It was not and I was actually a little surprised when I saw it. I've seen this top lift before in pictures so I just assumed it was standard for recrafts. Yep Also, for anyone wondering, they did use brown stitching although it does look almost black from the top. From the bottom you can clearly tell it's brown though.- Jonkr15

Alright, I assume they just misspoke calling it walnut and they'll come back with neutral then. If I don't like it, should be easy to apply chili to darken it up. As long as they're not dark brown or black I'm good.- Jonkr15

I'll let you know in a few weeks when I get mine back. I have a feeling they'll be darker as mine were pretty light. Just hope it looks good. On another note, i always thought the edges on mine were chili color and that's the edge dressing I've been using. I was corrected in the email I sent...- Jonkr15

I sent them an email and received a response stating that they have seen black stitching used from time to time, but that it shouldn't be. They let the production manager know that I wanted the welt, stitching, and edge dressing as it was when it came in so I should be good to go.- Jonkr15

I admittedly don't keep up with much AE news. I knew the old CEO was gone and I guess someone has bought them. Has something else happened in the past few days?
