The Official Thrift / Discount Store Bragging Thread Part III (Sept 2018-)

Piaggio Grande off of FB Marketplace, got it locked up 28 min after he posted. Frame and wheels are structurally beautiful considering 2.3k miles. Previous owner's decision to rattle can red over the original paint is a bummer. Engine is in pieces in the garage, planning a full rebuild.

Pretty sure the seller was finishing with a prostitute when I picked it up. Neon is all good, needs some kind of replacement in the power unit (flickers when turned on but shuts off immediately).

No, but cleaned up they'd still look good. Some shoe trees and conditioner would work wonders on those.

The Official Thrift / Discount Store Bragging Thread Part III (Sept 2018-)

Haven’t posted in a quite a while. New position hasn’t left much time for buying/selling, and I was told in my interview that anything more than a Dead shirt was dressing up so don’t have the same wardrobe rotation. Using some at home time to keep an eye on eBay. At $5.38 ppu I call it close...

I seem to recall someone found a suit/jacket from Gucci that was made for employees that apparently was of much lower quality. FWIW - this listing looks very similar to the jacket you have, but there are definitely details missing...

I'm on there frequently but I don't believe they offer it anymore. Probably two or so years ago they offered $50 off any purchase for first time users to spur growth, but now they have a good following and don't need the marketing expense. Word of warning if you're going to start looking there...

I did not, but on the same note did anyone get these PRL croc captoes that were listed as "textured". I bid for a while but spaced on it at the end.

I think I usually pay around $20 for dress pants, but location/person doing the work matters a lot and jeans would likely be more work/more expensive than wool pants. Unsolicited advice and strictly my experience so YMMV - If you ask around and find someone good, you won't need to ask how much...

That's pretty sweet, but what cracks me up is they have a side by side shot of the yoke of the jacket. Is that supposed to prove something? 1. Insanely dated with a black suit, black or purple shirt, and an olive drab tie? 2. Not sure a cowboy is a good comparison. 3. Literally looks like he's...

Probably lose less money. Donating they just have their cost per item (not much) and shipping (again not much on a per item basis), offset by some kind of inventory credit for getting them off the books. If they want sell elsewhere someone has to collect them and them make a large intra store...
