Baumler v Strellson suits

Brogues with a business suit, is this a fashion faux pais?
I read that a brogue is a casual shoe that is not to be worn with a business suit, didn't realise that this was a fashion faux pais as I often see men in business attire sporting a full brogue. Is this the generally consensus when wearing brogues, anyone have any thought to the contrary?- Tickers
