Christmas in NYC - appropriate pack list?

Chinos? I'm 27 lol. What do you guys wear if not denim? Buying clothes was an option I considered. Can't buy pants though, cos I'm a stocky 5"7 and need everything altered! How cold does it get? What setup do you need to get around and see the sights? Appreciate the advice btw

Christmas in NYC - appropriate pack list?

Hi guys, I'll be leaving sunny Sydney this December to do a quick 3 week run around some of South America (Peru/Inca Trail, Bolivia and Brazil) before meeting up with some UK friends in NYC for Christmas. Am attempting to pack light for the SA trip and considering sending some cold weather gear...

    Fellow Australians!

PVPatty - looks like you've missed out up north in Brissy. I visited Ethan, the head Tailor at the SYdney QVB store after reading the favourable reviews on SF (ZGent, PG, etc) and he was nothing but a wealth of information and displayed close to the best customer service I've ever received. This...

    Sydney Tailors

Unless you are unusually large, most tailors should be able to squeeze a waistcoat out of 5m as well. Dormeuil isn't bad and you won't be disappointed. BTW unless we're going to call taps faucets and curtains drapes let's call them trousers rather than pants LOL thanks - I'll keep that in mind!

    Sydney Tailors

Thanks for the replies Sator. I have ordered 5m of Dormeuil cloth in a navy herringbone to take to Sam Disano. He is making an extra set of pants with my suit.

    Fellow Australians!

Hi All, Long time reader, recent poster. Need to thank Sator and others for the guiding lights to Adamo Marrone and Charles Nahkle. Fantastic service and end products from both. Have been reading about Sam Disano and visited him today. Have looked at his range of fabrics but interested in...

    Tupac Shakur

Interesting to come across this old school revival on a fashion forum, but some interesting points made. I was a massive fan of Pac and Big - their music initially got me into hiphop as a culture. IMO Pac was the king all round, but there is an untouchable ease in Biggie's flow and simplicity in...

I think I like Belgian beer

Hoegaarden and the Leffe blonde stuff is great. There is also a damn good flavoured brew called Frolis, which comes in Peach, Mango or Apricot flavours. A bit girly but tastes fantastic.

    Usher's Latest

Terrible collaboration for someone of Usher's calibre. Polow "da" Don is atrocious with no skills as a producer whatsoever. Listen to the album he produced for that joke of an "artist" "Rich Boy" and you'll catch a lot of the same layers as you hear on this new Usher track. Don't know what...

Best Cheap/ Fairly priced Eats in NYC that Youve been to or heard of...

"Larry's" pizza joint on Starbuck's end of 87th has the most awesome NY pizza and awesome pasta. Mate introduced me to this first time I visited NYC. Also that Dosai cart guy is unbelievably good! It doesn't quite match Cali style burgers, but JG Mellons make excellent burgers also. For any...

    I bought wine...

This thread is going to be a long one lol... I just spent the Easter Long Weekend over in the Barossa Valley in South Australia. Returned with a holy grail of 1 x case of 2005 Rockford Basket Press, along with some great stuff from Henschke, Torbreck and Saltram. Also have been hitting up the...
