Allen Edmonds Appreciation Thread 2016 - News, Pictures, Sizing, Accessories, Clothing, etc

A couple of years ago, I sent my Bradley's back for recrafting (3rd time over 20 years). I was surprised when they came back with double oak leather soles. I really like the look, so I kept them that way.

My LaSalle's have a poron insole. The Delray's I've seen at Nordstrom Rack didn't.

To be honest, I'm not sure they are really Bourbon anymore. I had trouble maintaining them with the AE Bourbon cream, so I switched to the Saphir Mahogany wax. They are definitely darker than they were originally.

@middlepP I hope this helps your decision. I have 16 pair of AE. I bought 6 off of eBay. Here is my experience: - 2 pair - had poron insoles - they worked perfectly - no breakin period - 2 pair - the previous owners footbed was very close to mine and it worked great. - 1 pair - the...

The cork is replaced. But, not the insole. The insole has the imprint of the foot. Here is the Q&A from the AE website.

Thanks middlepP. AE does not replace the footbed with the recraft. I have bought other shoes off eBay, and my experience is that they eventually conform to my feet. The last pair took 40-50 wearings. I'd be curious what other people experiences have been. However, this pair is a pretty good...

those look terrific! Do you have pix from before? The only original picture I have is the AE before recrafting picture. I had them replace the original soles with double oak leather. I think 2 oak looks better with a NST blucher.

I bought a pair of shell cordovan Bradleys off of eBay. My first pair of shell. Just got them back from recrafting.

I just purchased a pair of Marlows on eBay. My guess is that these are about 25 - 30 years old. I used to own a pair just like this. But, my shoe size changed and I gave up my old pair. I always liked the look of the wingtip without the broguing on the toe. I sent them back to AE to have...

My roughly 15 year old Chili Dellwoods shine up nicely. I have always liked the wide open lacing, and the long split toe on these.

I think the old catalogs are great. Here is my redux with my bourbon Fifth Avenues. I obviously have too much time on my hands.

I don't think I can help. None of my bluchers and bals are on the same last.

As far as I can tell, they are the exact same as the PA, except that they are on the 97 last. I can tell no difference in quality from other AE. They came in AE shoe bags, in an AE box, they have AE branding (NOT JAB), and they shipped from Port Washington.

They are a 10.5 D. My Brannock size is 10.5D, which is what I wear in the 7, 8, and 4 last. I wear a 10 E in the 5 last. And yes, I think the toe-cap is a little narrower looking in the 10.5D 7 last vs the 10 E 5 last.

I swapped them out. I thought the flat laces looked better.
