Nicks Boots
Thanks for the response, I like the look of the tan leather but hate hearing the plasticky desription. The burgendy williams look nice, keep us updated on how they're breaking in.- JVAV

I've never considered doing and don't plan on doing it in the future. If you feel the need to based on excessive dryness then it might help but otherwise I see no reason to.- JVAV

My natural cxl is dry enough that I have doubts its cxl. It does scuff pretty easily though like my other cxl, not sure what else it might be, maybe just a little on the dry side.- JVAV

@cwmi I've had them since late April but have only worn about once/week over the summer, hoping to get a lot more wear this winter. I've brushed them a couple times and that seems to have darkened them a little so maybe try brushing. Not sure of your experience but this is the dryest/least...- JVAV

I think very few of whites leathers "need" to be lined. Some recommend it with cxl because of stretching but I have both lined and unlined cxl and I don't feel the unlined have stretched excessively. Lined will give a little softer feel though and warmth if you're looking for that.- JVAV

@7018 I was at the arvada army surplus but they also have smoke jumpers at whitesides up in brighton . Whitesides has a much bigger selection of work boots while the surplus has a little bit of everything.- JVAV

I just tried on a smoke jumper last weekend in Denver that was soft toe and the salesman told me that was the preference for the wild fire firefighters. I was surprised as I thought they would want some protection with at least single elastic.- JVAV

Brian, I was thinking either distressed or brown smooth for the bottoms. They will be steel toes and will be worn to work in so was wanting a stronger/thicker leather. I have a pair of bh in natural cxl already so would like them to be a little different.- JVAV

A couple questions for some bounty hunters I'm considering. How does the vibram 430 sole wear? Is it soft or kinda hard? I have a pair with the mini lug half sole and like it but seems soft so might wear quickly. Also, any body have any navy cxl with some wear on it to see how it ages? I've only...- JVAV

I have the same size (11D) in 1000 mile and SD, BH. It really depends on what socks you intend to wear as if I were to wear thin socks I would go down to 10.5 on all as I'm a 11.5 D on a Brannock but if you will wear regular to mid weight socks, I would say size down .5 size.
