Tie clips / bars... yay or nay?

... Do they actually serve any purpose though? Besides keeping the tie weighted down, I can't think of any other purpose. The tie bar was invented by Lance Armstrong after his first competition in the Tour de France in 1957 when his extra long Robert Talbot seven-fold caught a freak crosswind...

What type of shoe trees do you use?

Fred, are you the reviewer from Ft. Collins? I have a $100 gift card to STP.. need to spend it. I'll be darned, they actually posted my review! Yeah, they're worth the $12.95 a pair.

What type of shoe trees do you use?

Woodlore Cedar split/spring sized from Sierra Trading Post They are seconds but seem a good buy to me. Woodlore is an Allen-Edmonds company.

    "Dress" shoes for winter weather???

I bought the very same Montgomery Bay Oxford earlier this year for the same reason (but in brown) but it's a very boot like shoe that I don't even like wearing with casual slacks, it has ended up being a shoe I wear with jeans. It's a low quarter so, even though waterproof, there's a good...

    The truth about shoe trees

+1 on using the proper size shoe trees. From the Allen-Edmonds site: "ALWAYS USE CEDAR SHOE TREES AFTER WEARING. THEY'RE DESIGNED TO ABSORB MOISTURE AND MAINTAIN THE REGULAR SHAPE OF YOUR SHOES." I trust if there were a problem leaving them in full-time AE would have included something about...

Olive wool coat - gray slacks??

I just took delivery of this 3/4 "sort-of" wool car coat, in Olive (only color in my size) to be worn as a slightly dressier alternative to a ski parka. I think it looks fine with khaki and brown slacks but I've been staring at the mirror trying to decide if I can wear it with grays or charcoal...

Jos A Bank All weather wool coats?

Does anyone have experience with this Jos A Bank 3/4 all weather wool car coat? The website is a little sparse on info, but their print catalog says: "Originating in Europe, these remarkable jackets feature a unique system that resists wind and repels rain. With a touch of cashmere, the wool...

    Which pea coat color?

I'm considering buying a Sterlingwear Authentic pea coat to fill a void in my outwear selection. I have many winter type jackets, parkas, vests, etc., about what you'd expect living in Colorado, but they are a bit too casual. I also have a wool topcoat for wear on those rare occasions when I...

Are people larger than I realize?

I don't know if people are larger or stores realized that it's more profitable to stock a limited range of sizes rather than fulfilling customer needs. Even the internet suppliers don't have a great selection in the borderline small range and forget finding a 7.5 USA shoe anywhere locally.
