With this amount of wear, is it advisable to get it topied at this stage? Thinking of extending the 'sole life' as much as possible before a resole. I'm just afraid that applying topy will weaken the actual leather sole further.- Silence

This model is meant to be a double-sole one, right? Is the heel lifted off the horizontal plane? I read that singe-sole models that are made on the double sole have the heels lifted at the front. I wonder if a double-sole model will be the opposite if made with a single sole.- Silence

I didn't know that the MTO route allows altering of width. What does the standard width in the F last correspond to on the US width scale? Width does not vary across models on the same last, right?- Silence

Are derbies meant to tighten more for low insteps or to accommodate high insteps? Which Vass last is better for low insteps? How does the AE #5 last (Jefferson) compare to Vass U/F for instep height? I wear a US8.5D in the #5 and the laces are just short of tightened.- Silence
