Haven't posted in a while. Newly acquired Alden x Need Supply Stafford Boots. Loving the crepe sole so far, very soft and comfortable. Recently sent my 3 year old indy boots to B. Nelson for new soles and toe stitching repair. Will post pics when I receive them.- jereth

1. Not sure but I would assume that it is because of support material causing the oil to absorb differently then the rest of the boot. 2. Had a similar issue with Indys though not as extreme. Whenever I get a new pair of boots I lace them as tight as I can and do something active. Hike, yard...- jereth

Maiden voyage with my #8 boots yesterday. End of the day, proceeding with the Mac Method, I noticed two things. #1 all of the speed hooks will rotate slightly, not fixed like my Indys. Is this normal for shell? #2 on the inside lower portion of the left boot the lining is wrinkled, this did not...- jereth

Correct, #8 J. Crew. Ordered TTS and they fit perfect. I was very surprised at how sleek they were in person. Where the #8 really shines is in direct sunlight IMO, hard to capture in a picture how awesome it is. So happy with the decision to pull the trigger on these.- jereth

J Crews customer service is excellent. They shipped me the wrong style and size yesterday. I called them immediately and they issued me a full refund to my card before receiving the wrong item back (free return shipping. Based on only one experience I would say no. Just received the wrong shoes from J Crew today but had to stare at them and inspect them for about 1/2 hr anyway. The left shoe seemed fine while the right shoe had a total of 9 holes not punched.- jereth

Finaly bit the bullet and orderd my first cordovan boots (J Crew Cap Toe). I get home today and see the UPS box on the steps..siked! Open them up, not only are they the wrong size (11.5 not 11) but there color 8 gunboats w/crepe sole! These things happen, understood, and really no big deal...- jereth

Its been said in here somewhere before that black will fade to a grayish in creases but nothing like the other colors. I believe black wax polish will prevent even that, should stay pretty black.- jereth

Not an expert by far but i believe these are machine stitched? IMO way nicer then the hand stitching. Love these boots!- jereth
