Yeah, that's probably just an (older?) Bedford - my various bedfords are all from before the label change, and none of them have removable buttons.

Should I or shouldn't I buy... (clothing item)?

I've taken my wardrobe to the next level by moving past 'simple' stuff like shirts, pants, and shoes.

I'm not a fan of those W+H derbies; the sole is too half-assed - looks like a 'rugged' bizcas shoe more than anything else. On the Churchs/Dries, at least you get the lugs right at the edge of the sole.

Should I or shouldn't I buy... (clothing item)?

I've got a few pairs of those dries derbies, and I'd bet that the C&J beat them on quality pretty easily - I've just had the entire heel come unglued on one of my pairs.

The listing itself should be clear on how much tax and shipping there will be - at the very least, they often list the type of post they're using in Japan. Taxes if applicable show up when you look at the listing through the Zenmarket interface, I believe. If you're so worried, though, just put...

SS10 Conductor Jacket, in black chambray - I've got a service jacket and cambridge pants in the same fabric, and the pants especially are some of my favorites.

I've got a couple EG jackets with the same style of cuff, and you can either: 1) wait for the fabric to soften up - it'll become easier to roll or 2) cuff them back until the end of the split seam, and then cuff them back again. That should hold pretty well.

You might be able to get away without boots at all; the snow clearance downtown is pretty good. Honestly not sure what the best solution would be here - I wouldn't wear suede, but leather could probably handle things.

Should be fine; the weather has been... rather variable this spring, but hopefully in 2 weeks it's consistently above -10 C. Might want to think about the footwear a bit, just because there's going to be about a ton of salt on the sidewalks.

Really thin midsole + lug sole isn't a great combo, either.

The tag on the arm pocket is too small to really make out, but it doesn't look totally unlike the Alpha Industries tag.

Some judicious googling does lead to this, though, which has to be one of the best headlines I've seen.

Or 60/40? Would push things in a different direction, especially with contrasting colours.

You're the one who got that! I was sitting there, staring at that auction, wishing I hadn't gotten my christmas shopping done quite so early - I've got the matching pants :brick:

Random fashion thoughts - Part II (A New Hope)

Those, especially, don't look like they'd be worth whatever upcharge RO would imply - maybe look at some of the Dries Van Noten lug-sole chelseas or even RM Williams/Blundstone?
