How much student debt did you graduate with?

All told 101k (9k undergrad, 36k grad, 55k law school). I'm 15 years out of undergrad and if that was today I would be looking at 130k or more easily.

I like the look of the new dreamliner. I've never liked the look of the new A380. It always makes me think of a flying Manatee. Attachment 6890

Help a newb choose his first pair of dress shoes

Since these are mainly for interviews and such occasions I would say get a basic black captoe oxford. Almost all of the better department stores are going to carry good quality ones from Johnson & Murphy, Cole Haan, Florshiem and the like. Stick to the better known brands even in their lower...

    Cheese knives

I was just in William Sonoma a couple of days ago. I looked at a decent olive wood cheese board and knife set you can get for 90.00 or 49.00 just for the knives. I recommend getting a decent set of knives and stay away from the wire slicers becasue the wires last a few months at best. Any good...

    Tuxedo Questions

If you don't want the traditional combination black bow tie and cumberbund try replacing the cumberbund with a vest. I've done black tie with a blackwatch pattern vest, black vest/tie and a silver vest with either matching tie or black.

I can't fill my gas tank?!?!

Get used to it. CNBC analyst this morning are predicting $100+ a barrel by the end of the year. We won't see an appreciable drop until 1. the US actually starts buidling refinery capacity and 2. the Chinese economy slows reducing demand for oil there.

Lawyers: Do you enjoy your jobs?

I'll throw in my two-cents. Yes, I like my current job and I enjoy being a lawyer. That hasn't always been the case. I grew to hate my first legal position and quit. First, a law degree can open a lot of doors even if you don't want to practice law. Second, the choice of school depends on what...

    Abba

I saw a list a year or so ago that put the Beatles at #1, Elvis at #2 and ABBA at #3 in terms of worldwide sales. Third is still a feat for a group that only had one #1 in the US (Dancing Queen).

    FBN or CNBC

Has anyone watched the new Fox Business Channel? I've been an avid CNBC watcher for years and can't see where FBC is going to be able to do what CNN/fn couldn't.
