The unofficial Drake's London Appreciation Thread

Abercrombie and Levi’s are publicly traded. You can look up their net profit margins. Nowhere near that range. Perhaps that is close as a product margin, but once you factor in labor, buildings, supplies etc you are much lower.

The Chicago thread - local recommendations, trunk shows, goings-on, etc.

Drake’s will have a trunk show in Chicago at Independence on April 19 and 20. The emails says it’s a made to order trunk show. The one last year was good to go to, especially if you don’t know your size. They had a little bit of everything. Independence is a good store too - this is a good...

I would buy more Drake’s if I lived in the UK. Their standard Oxford is 175GBP or approximately $220 USD. The same on the US site is $295 or about $325 with Chicago taxes. That 50% increase is material. I’ll probably hold off on non-seasonal buys until my next London trip into the autumn...

    Chicago-based tailors?

There is a Chicago thread you can post to and also reveal the recommendations from others. For something like this, I would go see Nick at Oak Street Tailors

The GRP bubble knit are perfect for hot sweaty days. This isn’t an advertised feature but it’s the truth. I picked up the white and petrol ones in this drop.

    Eidos Napoli

I recently “bought” it but the seller never responded. It seems they have been inactive for a year. Hopes dashed.

This might be the best NMWA drop in recent memory for me. I reloaded on Rota trousers (I bought all my favorites in a smaller size), added some Christian Kimber polos, and even picked up two Portuguese Flannel shorts for Summer.

French cuffs for a slightly fashion forward business casual in 2023?

I think there is a structural mismatch between shirts that need cufflinks and any outfit that isn’t ’formal.’ I think it’s great that you like the cuff links, but I would recommend wearing them with the full outfit that maximizes the effect. Otherwise you run the risk of being mismatched...

Edward Green Appreciation: Pictures, Info, and Where to Buy

aubergine is British English for 'eggplant.' Shades of purple. London grain is the stamping pattern on the leather. Your boots look amazing and I'm jealous.

I think these are the regular brown Plainview western boots. They had black a year ago and most recently dark brown. This color isn’t available now.

These archive prices are nothing to get excited about. Mild discounts from retail price. Some of the Christmas sales from other Drake’s retailers were better for the same items. Good selection of ties, if you are in the market.

MrPorter USA has 20% off Drake’s. I think you need to be logged in. Other brands too.
