How well-made do you think mass-produced, rubber-soled Timberlands are? Considering shoe prices that I've seen and the brand, I'd say it's plenty well made. They make mass produced mountain climbing boots that go through more than casual shoes. Where do you buy your shoes, from NASA?- Barry

Here's exactly what I want...except I don't want it to be reddish. I want some shade of tan or brown, but not black. I'd also prefer distressed leather over that textured leather. Less shine would be a plus. A flatter sole would be a slight plus too, but not a leather sole. Under $100 would help...- Barry

I want to look commonish but practical. If I see people on the street with work boots and ultra-baggy clothes, that's wrong for practical reasons and likely to be a fad. I totally agree. If you don't want to look like **** or odd then you have to consider what the masses are wearing. Look at the models and mannequins in large, moderately priced chain stores and don't diverge too much from that. If you want to buy at expensive stores, that's fine, but you have to...- Barry

Yes. Those are hideous. There's a whole popular genera of shoe like that. I think the Doc Martens style is similar to Sketchers.
