    Horn buttons on navy blazer, what color thread?

    I've tried searching the forum, but I can't seem to find an answer (buttons yes, thread no). My apologies if this has already been discussed to death. I'm having brown horn buttons put on a navy sportcoat. Should I use navy thread or thread to match the color of the buttons?

    I seem to remember a thread about a fellow who makes bespoke shoes in Northampton on his own. He worked for Lobb or EG at one point, perhaps. I've searched and searched but can't find this thread. Could someone point me in the right direction?

    I have a pair of EGs on the 82 last that are a little loose in the heel. I probably should have gone down a 1/2 size, but they were too hard to resist at the price. Is there anything I can do about this or do I have to live with it?

    Shirt with buttons sewn to a removable strip. What is this?

    I recently bought a sort of casual shirt from RL. The top 4 or so buttons up the placket aren't sewn to the shirt at all. Instead they're all sewn along a length of white fabric.
