Any of you gents know about this brand/coat? How's the fit? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mens-Voeut-Montana-Formal-Melton-Crombie-Jacket-Over-Coat-Wool-Rich-/390508733695?pt=UK_Men_s_Coats_Jackets&var=&hash=item5aec2264ff

Ha! 99x. That brings back memories. Sad that pretty much every store and venue I went to in my youth is long gone. Wetlands, abc no rio, cbgbs and many more. Instead replaced with cupcake stores, frozen yogurt and high end boutiques. Trash and vaudeville is still there of course, and just as...

As ubiquitous as people who listened to pearl jam, nirvana, or any other "alternative" band on a major label played round the clock on MTV and topping the charts. Which really was a crapload of people.

For me (born in 79) the first music i heard next to classical and pete seeger and was Miriam Makeba, Harry Belafonte and Bob Marley (age 4 or 5?)

That London store display shot is ben Sherman, arguably they have the right. But I really don't like this pseudo skinhead trend that's all the rage. I wonder how much of it is from fashion designers visiting this thread? My main gripe is because because the main people wearing it are latte...

Nasty receptions on skinhead sites: part of the issue is people seeing movies like romper stomper and showing up either to "interview" skinheads, or asking endless questions having been answered hundreds of times over (like about lace color) or people just discovering it and only pursuing it by...

Raff, i just sent him my measurements. Thickasthievesla.com. Bars: in the states the benefits of bars are to find one with happy hours and a good tender who will give you free drinks as a regular. Can actually save you money and beats drinking alone or cleaning up other peoples empties and...

New threads. Thanks to Get Smart (Jason) for coming through. It's a petrol blue sharkskin three button, frogmouths on the pants. He did a fine job with nothing more than emailed sizes, and for an unbeatable price. just need a bit of a hem, but I usually get pants longer to be safe...

Theres a few murals of that scene out here in Oakland, CA. They usually cut the Aussie out due to ignorance. Interesting to see people in all their outerwear on the dancefloor, compared to these days — it gets hot enough in a jumper and BD in venue with modern HVAC, must have been roasting...

Wow, great shots, especially the ladies. So sleek. Funny about the gloves, I have a pair I wear sometimes, so I can pretend I'm Steve McQueen when I'm driving my volkswagen :) never thought they were a skin thing. What kind of jacket is that with the trim on the collar and pockets...

How common were those at the time? Also, is that a monkey jacket on the fellow behind? Looks like fun times!

I mentioned the moon landing, but what were some other major events of the day that take you guys back, and what were you all doing, drinking, listening to, etc. that day/night? New years 68, etc.

Two questions, gents: 1) how do Loake royals and brightons fit? True to size, narrow, loose, etc? I'm getting a pair for my wedding and have to order across the pond, with how much the shipping is I want them to fit right :satisfied: 2) where were you on the night of the moon landing?

Here in the states, they became "girly" because early on you couldn't get docs in small sizes. So girls and young'ns had to wear monkeys.

Personally I can't stand this, or people "borrowing the look" without any of attitude. Cheapens the whole thing, the way swishy guys with lisps playing "leather biker dress" up turned the whole brando 'wild one' look into a walking punch line. But I'm a grouch :)

I got a good chuckle at that Harry with all the flair on it. Looks like a cross between those tiny ma1s they make for infants with fun commando patches all over them, and tacky sweatshop souvenir to show the world someone took a weekend vacation to skinheadville-land with the wife and kids...
