Edward Green Appreciation: Pictures, Info, and Where to Buy

Thanks for the kind words on the blog! Just a note, the article you refer to talks about lasted shoe trees only, for generic ones, one can't really say anything on which size to go with since it varies as much there as it do with shoes. There one should read the sellers guidelines. For lasted...

Paul Sargent (formerly Alfred Sargent) Appreciation Thread

Sorry, but it's hard to follow, since you seem to contradict yourself. In you original post, you stated one shoe had this issue. Now it's four in total? And you talk about creasing, but a crease occurs when you fold or bend something. During making the shoes have a last in them, you can't crease...

Paul Sargent (formerly Alfred Sargent) Appreciation Thread

I think it looks like a stretch mark on that photo too, if it's over the stiffener or not doesn't affect that at all, and stretch marks can be long. But if you say it's identical on all sides of both shoes, it sounds weird. But I don't get what your cobbler mean with the lining "shifted during...

That looks like a stretch mark, nothing else. Can't really be "fixed", but with wear and tear these always becomes less visible. Is it acceptable? Hard to say from just these photos.

TLB MALLORCA - OFFICIAL AFFILIATE THREAD - Advice, sizing and reviews

Of course. You have 21% VAT, as you have on all common goods in Spain. The RRP for Artista in EU is €445. It's only non-EU citizens who can deduct this (but then in most cases pay customs and duties upon import).

Japanese Shoes: Bespoke & RTW Super Thread

Not that difficult, you go by train to Matsudo station, from there either bus and walk, or taxi (definitely more convenient). Takes about an hour in total from Tokyo station.

Japanese Shoes: Bespoke & RTW Super Thread

Cost of living is (for most) lower in Japan than in the UK or France, so prices have always been lower there, and the country has seen very little to no inflation for many, many years now (highly problematic on many regards, of course). That's why the Japanese makers are so competitive. It's the...

Japanese Shoes: Bespoke & RTW Super Thread

It's a very remote location in Chiba, a house where he has showroom and workshop on the bottom floor, and lives on the top floor. His wife also work full time, so they have double income. And they basically spend no money on anything, just their young daughter. He certainly doesn't have rich...

Japanese Shoes: Bespoke & RTW Super Thread

Haven't had the time to post these here yet, but here's some images of my fourth pair from Main d'Or / Eiji Murata. Split toe derby, Haas Utah calf, square outside bevelled inside waist, 14 spi sole stitch, rubber topy and full rubber heel top piece. Read and see more here, but below some shots:

TLB MALLORCA - OFFICIAL AFFILIATE THREAD - Advice, sizing and reviews

You need something strong, like acetone or so, to get the glue residues away, but a cobbler should sort it.

TLB MALLORCA - OFFICIAL AFFILIATE THREAD - Advice, sizing and reviews

Sounds like you would do better with tongue pads, if heel slippage was your issue. With heel grips you push the feet forward where it's more narrow, with tongue pads you push them backwards so feet stay in the wider part of the shoes yet reduce heel slippage.

As I've said before, I think it's better if others than me do that.

Archibald London: true craftsmanship, no middlemen, Official Vendor Thread

That was sort of my point, that you state that you have a "social media team" when you post barely anything anywhere and have quite few followers (and IG and FB were your biggest social media, based on the ones you link to from your website). Now you seam to have switch to it being only one...

Archibald London: true craftsmanship, no middlemen, Official Vendor Thread

Sorry, but there's just so many things that sound wrong with this explanation. You have a social media team? That don't manage to achieve more than 1-3 posts per month on Instagram, even less on Facebook (might want to tell the "team" to remove the picture on FB as well BTW, it's still up...

Archibald London: true craftsmanship, no middlemen, Official Vendor Thread

The new shoes do look better, hence also cost a lot more, of course. Which makes sense. Don't really follow though how one, under the tag "redemption", not only showcase steps of shoemaking not done on the shoes one offer, but also do it with stolen photos. Not the best way to build up trust.

Don't think any of those are from their own factory, they used a different rubber top piece and different nail pattern (not the centre nail) from those, at least from the photos I have.
