Australian Members - Part II - if you read the first post, you'll get what this is all about.

Haven't posted for a while! Are there any recommendations for bespoke suits in Melbourne? Or Made to Measure even - need to suit up a few groomsmen.

Natural tan attache with black shoes

How well does a natural belting tan (light brown) attache case (this particular example from Atlas) with gold-plated latches match black shoes and a charcoal suit? I understand black with black is better but would tan be an absolute faux pas?

FS: More NWT Riccardo Piacenza sweaters

Nice sweaters but do you have any in the even smaller size 36?

    Burberry Ties

Lots of interest in the blue and the beige. But like others, this is one of the forums where we trust that items are authentic and I have bought quite a number of ties from people senior members on these forums where I wouldn't question their authenticity. However, I'll also wait and see on...

    Stefano Ricci

I received my Stefano Ricci tie today. By far the most sumptious, smooth silk I've felt on a tie. I'd rate the quality of the silk above the Kiton 7-fold. Unfortunately, the tie is a bit on the long side so I will have to tolerate a wider knot than I'd otherwise like.

FS:NWT & Mint Brioni, Ferragamo, Zegna, Gucci, Robert Talbott, Stefano Ricci, Paul St

Some gorgeous ties there at a nice price. PM Sent. That Dunhill is exactly what I'm looking for.

PM Sent. Is the plum tie a print or a weave?

    Folded Up Shirt Appreciation

Some of the shirts in the 'roman orgy' have quite good shoulder matching and although a few do appear they could have matched better, pattern matching is a mark of a quality shirt, it is by far the only criteria. I would daresay it's impossible to tell which shirts are top-quality simply by...

FS: NWT Dunhill 36R Charcoal 3B Suit

Nice suit. And there will always be somebody looking for a solid charcoal in that size. Appears more like a 36L than a 36R. Seems a bit long for me.

    Pens

what would people recommend as a good entry-level rollerball? /Andrew Not exactly a rollerball but I would recommend the Parker Gel-Ink refills in a standard Parker ball-point. I used to use a Parker Insignia stainless steel BP as an everyday pen before it was replaced with a Lamy 2000...

    Fountain Pen Q

Took a month to receive my Lamy 2000 EF from an eBay seller. Filled it up with the only Fountain Pen Ink I would use - Noodler's Black. So far, I'm very happy. It's got that no-nonsense functionality and none of the pretentious gold trim and laque prevalent in some of the brands of gold-nibbed...

    Louis Vuitton Shirt

I like Armani - but then I'm not buying it for life, I just like the way it fits OTR after years of MTM Brioni/Corneliani/Carusso.. I like Armani cuts and agree it fits some people very well OTR, especially the slimmer guys. Although the more trendy casual shirts are cut quite well, I can't say...

First ever post. Need advice buying Shirts Hong Kong

I'd recommend WWChan in HK as well. I find that their shirtings are quite satisfactory at the price-range. The construction, fabric (Acorn or Thomas Mason 100's cotton) and MOP buttons are all more than reasonable for a US$100 shirt. A pain to iron but that's about it! Make sure you tell them...

    A Gentle, Honest LV Inquiry

I can't say I am too familiar with the canvas wallets but I will attest that the quality of the Taiga leather wallet is fantastic. The construction is obviously built to last many years. Personally am not a fan of the monograms as I feel that it is too ostentatious but that is just my...

NWT: Tie Sale (Borrelli, Italo Ferretti, Oxxford, Tino Casmo)

Are the photos of the Italo Ferretti taken in natural lighting or with flash photography? I'm trying to compare the colour of the tie with a very similar Italo Ferretti you had posted for sale previously in March this year. I would be interested in the Navy if the colour is more on the lighter...

It's a gorgeous bag. I'd offer 200 for it which is way below what you should sell it for. I'd say keep it. Start using it if you can't sell it and you'll soon appreciate it.

What colour is it or is it the default tan as pictured?

Is this attache case too big? Black or Brown?

I also recommend the Atlas cases. Although black is seen as more 'trendy' and easier to match, I find the classic tan to be more traditional. It also wears better than black. For those who prefer the attache style over the softer brief-bag, I would recommend this one from Atlas. 5" is too heavy...
