    The Ultimate Toronto Thread

Question for the group. What are everyone's thoughts on this Innis Meain sweater? Its at Robert Jones, about ~$400. Its very fitted, but doesnt feel "tight" Have the sweater and really like it.

    The Ultimate Toronto Thread

I assume a "SF approved" garment is a bit of a joke when I see fit pics of Spier and Mackay on a regular basis. I have tried some things from them and have not been impressed. Everything has ended up at the Salvation Army. Corners cut to meet a low price point. Does this mean if it is cheap...

    Recent purchases - Part II

Decided to cut body fat down to around 12-14%. Went from around a dozen pair of jeans to one that I could still wear. BF I picked up some Iron Heart jeans. Went with 14oz indigo, overdye black and slubby 1955's in 16oz. Had a couple of pairs of 21oz but stopped wearing them before the weight...

Any love for Allen Edmonds Park Ave Sneakers here?

I stopped by a shoe store a couple of months ago on my way to pick up lunch. Looked at some pairs of these hybrid sneaker/dress shoes. Could not see myself ever wearing these with tailored clothing or anything else. It would make me feel that I just gave up in life.

Twill vs. hopsack for business suit

I personally like sharkskin fabrics. Only issue I have for a first suit, they can have a two tone affect. My first two business suits were a mid grey twill and a dark navy subtle herringbone. Between the two I was covered for work, weddings and funerals.

Twill vs. hopsack for business suit

I am assuming you have a limited suit collection since you want the suit for year round use. If this is the case I would go for twill fabric. It may not be exciting but will look presentable pretty much anywhere a business suit is needed.

    The Ultimate Toronto Thread

The vast majority of my clothes (other than some streetwear) is from Robert Jones. Went the first time to the store to order a pair of Edward Green shoes seven years ago and have not bothered to go anywhere else since. Sad to see Ken, Marylou and Phillip retire. Everyone there has been great...

Discussions about the fashion industry thread

Haven't been interested in drugs since my mid twenties. I have been an alcoholic since I was thirteen but once I finished university only go on a 1-3 day bender maybe 3-5 times a year. My kids have never seen me drunk and my wife only once in over 20 years. Difference is the last 12 years I...

Discussions about the fashion industry thread

My philosophy on clothes has been the same as Pitt for the last 15 years. I don't care about trends and prefer my clothes to fit a certain way. My style is fairly plain with an odd piece with a little pop. I still only wear ties that are 3 3/4" width because that is what suits me best. I...

Leather Jackets: Post Pictures of the Best You've Seen/Owned?

The labeled size of both Nelson jackets were 42 but one jacket was much smaller in the body. Just assumed the variance was a result of one jacket was cut or sewn slightly different than the other. I was interested in a J-100 in brown but do not want to deal with ordering and hassle to return...

Leather Jackets: Post Pictures of the Best You've Seen/Owned?

My experience has not been the same as yours. When I purchased my 30's Nelson jacket I went with a size 42. The store had 2 in stock, one jacket I could barely get on my body while the second won't supply storage for any tennis balls but does zip up and allows necessary movement. Wanted a...

Leather Jackets: Post Pictures of the Best You've Seen/Owned?

Purchased a J-24 about a year and a half ago. Snaps line up similar to yours. Always thought it was a manufacturing defect. I always wear it unsnapped. Can't be bothered to do them up.

Kiton Jeans - Maybe something you've never considered

I have a pair of brown Kiton jeans. Two of my favourite summer pants are both 5 pocket jean cut, one in blue linen and the other in light weight grey wool. Purchased Kiton shirts from Isuit numerous times over the years.

Random Fashion Thoughts (Part 3: Style farmer strikes back) - our general discussion thread

Got a pair of 21oz Iron Hearts 634s last year and find them comfortable to wear. Start out stiff but so much softer after a wash. Will wear lighter weight Levis on the hottest most humid days. Prefer to keep my jeans dark so wash inside out on hand wash cycle, hang to dry and then throw them...

Heschung Thuya VS Paraboot Michael - the ultimate shoedown for some ugly shoes (sizing, style, etc).

Recently got a pair of ERKN with black pony hair on top. Thicker sole than the Michaels and very comfortable. Have only worn them a few times and will have to wait to see if they hold up well.

The Japanese Repro Clothing Thread (Real McCoys, Freewheelers, Etc.)

I picked up a RMC Nelson over a year ago and really like the jacket. They also had the Mobster but didn't do anything for me so did no try it on. Usually wear with jeans but have paired it with chinos and flannel pants. I like the versatility. As mentioned it is short in the body. I am...

    Most comfortable informal dress shoe?

Fit, fit and fit. Find a company with a last that fits your foot. As mentioned above pay attention to the shape of your foot. Heel, instep, arch support and the ball of your foot are good places to start to find a last which works for you. Arch support seems to not get much attention but...

Jacques Marie Mage - Wolves, Obnoxious Acetate and The American Dream

Tried on around 8 pairs of acetate JMM sunglasses today. The only frames that suited my face were Enzo and Felson. Purchased the Felson in black and got a good deal on a pair of Persols in a slightly reddish tortoiseshell pattern. Now need to figure out what colour Enzos to get this spring...

Buttero Appreciation Thread (pics, sizing, fit, etc)

Thank you both for the fitting advice. Ordered a pair of Quentins, size 44 in black calf. Hope they fit.

Buttero Appreciation Thread (pics, sizing, fit, etc)

Could use some help for size. I am looking at a pair of Quentin or Fargo. I normally wear a size 11.5 in Adidas, 10.5D UK in Edward Green 888 last and most other dress shoes. Prefer dress shoes snug and stretch by wearing. I have a narrow ankle and wide around the ball of my feet but height...
