Interesting that you soaked it in brine. I would think that would take away from the sweet cedar flavor. Any reason you chose brine over regular water. And by brine, do you just mean water with vinegar and salt in it? Brine should have, in theory anyway, helped transport heat through the wood...- secretsquirrel

After reading this post I decided I just had to try it. I went out to Home Depot, found some cedar, had one of their guys call and check to make sure it was untreated and bought a 12 foot by 8 inches by 3/4 inch plank for 13 bucks.
