    Favorite sneakers?

Those are the velcro SS, but they are definitely not in a color scheme I would advocate. I personally only enjoy the white/green Stan Smiths worn, as a previous poster already mentioned, scuffed and dirty.

    Favorite sneakers?

Dude, it is true that there is now a matte-finish Stan Smith available, which is aesthetically worse than the original, but the original is still available. Also, if you buy online from the UK you can get the velcro Stan Smith's, which I can't find anywhere in the states and which are hotter IMO.

    Favorite sneakers?

Wow, you must not get out of the states then. Those speedcats and mostros were beyond exhausted by the time I was studying abroad in France damn near 3 years ago. I came back to college in Georgetown and everybody who was back from visiting Europe had them in D.C. as well.

    Clothing and the rich

john travolta makes due with cheaper things? have you seen him on mtv cribs? he shows his extensive luxury car collection and his multi-million dollar G4 private jet that has more amenities in it than your home. i really doubt his eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to save up for the...

    Quality Jeans

LA Guy, i have a pair of A.P.C.'s that I had been wearing-in faithfully since june until about 2 weeks ago when i spilled pasta sauce or something on them and really had to wash them. first of all, i was in love with the way they were aging until that point. now, i don't know where i went wrong...

    Has GQ gone Gay?

and so this means, rjman, that there is no such thing as pure objectivity in this world and that if the majority of the people who are responsible for putting together a particular publication share a certain orientation, then it is not unlikely for that orientation to be reflected in that...

    Has GQ gone Gay?

the publishing industry/art world/fashion industry in general is disproportionately gay. if you've ever been in the conde nast cafeteria you know that you are hard pressed to find one straight male in there. the fact is that these are the people who put out a huge amount of what is on the...

    Barneys New York Warehouse Sale

yeah, those types of markdowns happen in the winter and summer and have been going on for the past couple of weeks already. when the first markdown hits (like 30%) most of the great stuff gets snatched. everything in normal sizes has already disappeared from what i could tell two days ago...

    Barneys New York Warehouse Sale

if you're there early, you can find some gems. i don't know if i'd make a trip to nyc around the event, though, if it was inconvenient.

    New York

(drizzt3117 @ 14 Dec. 2004, 9:36) Hmm, I don't know that it would be cheaper to eat in Paris than NY, yes the dollar is weak, but the better restaurants in NYC are at least comparable if not more expensive than those in Paris/Lyon IMO. Lunch for two at the two-star Jamin cost $345, but they gave...

    Black jeans

you definitely see the artsy/hipster crowd in faded black jeans. the look can be very cool with a pair of checked vans and a v-neck hanes, for instance. helmut lang consistently puts them out and jude law is photographed wearing the dior homme version that LA Guy mentions. however, LA Guy, he's...

rjman, i both agree and disagree with you. while tyler brule was the instrumental to the mag, i don't think that it completely fell off once he left. i find it to still be pretty preposterous and funny when they say, "everybody is doing away with spare bedrooms and getting a 'groom room'...

dude, you cannot put wallpaper in that category (especially if you're going to make arguments in defense of juicy couture for men.) because wallpaper is an  androgynous mag.  its focus is not clothing, it is design, which isn't usually gender specific. I pick up Wallpaper once in a while. Â...
