One day you too will wear the low gorge.

I apologize for my ignorance on the gorge. I always thought it described how much of the shirt was visible when the jacket was buttoned. Anyway, I'm of the more shirt and fewer button school. In fact buttons and martinis are similar-- one isn't enough and three are too many.

One day you too will wear the low gorge.

To me, high gorge suits look like leisure suits. Usually too many buttons and too little opportunity for the tie.

Do you own anything by Thom Browne?

If you own it, what is it, and have you ever worn it in public? And if so, under what circumstances?

First "business casual" job, have nothing to wear. Help!

Tan chinos and a light blue shirt will never be wrong. One of the few times a button collar is appropriate. An inexpensive light wool navy blazer will give you a complete look. One of the few times cotton pants and a wool jacket work. Shoes are critical. Women will look at your shoes then your...

Diet Will Power Question - Please Help

I agree absolutely with the past few posts about the importance of exercise particularly cardiovascular exercise. Brisk walking can lead to jogging and running and you will find that your metabolism will change and you will not want to eat nearly as much, and you will crave healthier foods. At...

    cuff links at interviews

The culture has everything to do with it. In Canada, when lawyers appear in the higher courts they must wear black robes, dark trousers, a black waistcoat, white collarless shirt, detachable wing collar, and tabs (no wigs). Almost always, the white shirts have french cuffs and cufflinks are...

side vents summer weight sports coat?

Was out shopping for a couple of summer sports coats today. Almost all had side vents. This to me is the juxtaposition of the incongruous. Maybe, if you live in Scotland side vents would work on a sports coat, but I don't see it here.
