    The Hong Kong Tailors Thread

That's what I was thinking. Thanks.

    The Hong Kong Tailors Thread

I'm going to be in HK next week, but it's for a rather short trip, the 20-23. My initial impression was that this is nowhere near enough time to get anything halfway decent and I should just enjoy my trip. Am I correct, or should I be doing some research? Budget would be SuitSupply level if I...

BlackLapel.com - any experience with them?

Hello all, I placed an order with BlackLapel for a Double Breasted Shawl Lapel Tuxedo just over a month ago, and it arrived at my door today. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the fit, though there are some issues. I provided BlackLapel with a shot of Tom Hanks in a Tom Ford DB Shawl at the...

Double Breated Shawl Lapel Tuxedo for a Wedding

Black Lapel looks like an interesting option. At about half the price of the local place, if they're both MTM I don't see a ton of advantage of spending $1,200 for a similar product. My assumption is all I would gain are better measurements and a wider array of fabrics.

Double Breated Shawl Lapel Tuxedo for a Wedding

My mistake with the wording, I'm buying both a jacket and trousers. After re-reading my post, I see where the confusion came from. I met with a local custom tailor in St. Louis called Saville Row. They'll do a full custom tuxedo for $1,200, which seems fair. My assumption is that it's made...

Double Breated Shawl Lapel Tuxedo for a Wedding

All, I'm getting married in November and on the hunt for a specific type of tuxedo/dinner jacket. A large portion of the reason I'm game for one is based on Tom Hanks at the Oscars last (?) year: I've been on the hunt for an OTR Shawl DB tux for awhile, and haven't had much success. My...

    Official Wedding Attire Question/Answer/Picture Thread

Hello all, I don't have a date set for my wedding, but we're shooting sometime for the end of this year if at all possible, depending on venue availability. We'll be doing both service and reception in one venue, starting with the service around 5:30, leading straight into cocktails followed...

Sunglasses MEGATHREAD - all sunglass questions here please

In various blogs lately, I've seen a lot of Wayfarer type frame sunglasses with clear plastic frames. It doesn't look like Ray-Ban makes anything in that sort of family, and the blogs tend to have uncredited pictures. Gant makes a reasonably priced pair...

    Reasonably Priced Transparent Frame Sunglasses

    DB Ravazzolo

There's no tag for size, but it measures out to about an Italian 42L. Ish. Great condition, I bought it on eBay and my shoulders are too wide for it. I never wore it, it's been hanging up for a year because I really dig it and somehow magically wish my shoulders would shrink. Jacket...

    The underwear thread...

I threw some money at this: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jakehimself/flint-and-tinder-premium-mens-underwear I'm hoping it turns out well.

buying used shoes, ok or not?

Doing this right now. I don't intend to buy used shoes after I graduate law school, but for right now it works. About half my shoes are new, other half used.

    PSA: CottonWorks now sucks

I was about to order the other day, but I was really put off by their hefty price increases. I'm thinking about pursuing other options.

    Levi's Grading

Do the heshers fit like the 514's, waist wise? I wear a 34 in 501's but the 514's I have are 36. I'm in St. Louis anyway, so not like it terribly matters.

Your 501's are my correct size... if they weren't STF.

    Levi's Grading

This might be an elementary Levi's question, but I haven't found anything specifically about it. I lost a bunch of weight and am still on the way down, so I don't really want to spend too much on jeans. With this in mind I bought a pair of the J.Crew Levi's 501's that were on sale awhile ago...

JCrew Alden Indys vs. Alden Alden Indys

Quality is the same. Sole is different material. Stitching pattern is slightly different. Pick the one you like the looks of.
