    How to stop overdressing

Ah yes, structured jackets with graphic tees, the best look ever to not seem overdressed, thanks AI.

٭٭٭ No Man Walks Alone - Official Affiliate Thread ٭٭٭ (a.k.a. I shouldn't have slept on it)

Does anyone have pictures of the Document belted trousers? I tried searching for half an hour but nothing (although tbh SF search function always disappoints me)

The unofficial Drake's London Appreciation Thread

Well, since you're in Italy you might know this, but Boglioli is the king of unstructured cotton jackets, particularly the garment-dyed and washed variety. I have one in beige cotton and it is as good as they can be for warmer seasons (though with 35C+ nothing really works, I don't wear jackets...

    MC General Chat

I know, but given how bad most menswear fits from red carpet etc are, I have to deduce their personal stylists also are often clueless (or more likely, tasteless) about menswear. I mean, in many cases they don't even have trousers hemmed decently, I can't honestly find any excuse for that...

    The L.E.J Appreciation Thread

Sure, I'm trying to visualize how it looks in the various configurations, you know, open, closed, with or without cinch. Whether it's more baloon-y or more tailored (though it looks more like the latter from the little I've seen). Or just your favorite way(s) to wear it.

    MC General Chat

Yeah but are those targeted ad campaigns or just VIPs wearing and possibly endorsing the brands? In that case the fault might be with the VIP, we all know most of them are clueless about menswear. What is really weird to me is when they do that in dedicated product photoshoots with professional...

    MC General Chat

Yeah I don't get this either, I see it all over ads in Italy. The mind boggling thing is that it happens to high-end renowned brands as well (such as here, but particularly all over their websites, though often very limited), not just the dozens of low-tier high street shops selling fused...

Would love some more photos of the winter shell blouson. Really interested in the charcoal one as I'm really into cropped looks at the moment. Do you use the cinch at the waist? Also I believe the cloth is heavier than my actual full length winter coats, which is an interesting proposition being...

Should shirt cuffs be snug or loose?

Personally I prefer a slightly relaxed cuff. Tight enough that it won't slide down significantly when my arms are down (not that I ever walk or stand that way really), but loose enough that it will rise up a little if I have to raise my arms overhead for some reason (which actually gives me a...

    Suitsupply NYC

Yep, probably. I made this mistake with a pair of cotton trousers from Cavour. Cloth is perfectly fine as you would expect, and even the lining is, but they definitely shrunk enough that I eventually had to alter the waist to make up for the reduced rise. Not recommended. I tried a similar pair...

The Least Official Natalino Appreciation Thread

To be honest it feels like a "late" addition to me, in the sense that every brand in existence has already offered dozens of versions of it in the last couple year with COVID etc, and this one doesn't seem to offer anything special nor is in a particularly interesting cloth.

You might think that's a pose, but actually I don't think the model can actually move his arm any more than what's depicted, in that jacket.

3 Season Sportcoat: heavy linen or wool?

A knitted wool jacket is a very different thing from wovens in my experience, it feels much more like knitwear perhaps unsurprisingly. In my opinion it is best left for jacket substitutes, like anthology's lazyman jacket.

٭٭٭ No Man Walks Alone - Official Affiliate Thread ٭٭٭ (a.k.a. I shouldn't have slept on it)

There's no real TTS as I would normally wear a 15.5 in shirts which is a small M, but yes I go M in PF flannels though they are very roomy, a bit more than I'd like even. If the moleskin western shirts are even roomier I should probably size down to S then (which is what I do for PF's camp shirts)

٭٭٭ No Man Walks Alone - Official Affiliate Thread ٭٭٭ (a.k.a. I shouldn't have slept on it)

Any advice on the fit of Whyte's moleskin western shirts compared to e.g. PF's long sleeves (which are quite roomy for me)? The size chart is not-insignificantly different from Whyte's own size chart for the same item btw.

    Question regarding no-break pant length . . .

Personally I try trousers with a medium height shoe, I don't mind if they are slightly short with loafers, id' rather that than have a full break on others. But then again I ask for a quarter break (in many more words, since there is no equivalent term in Italian for it afaik), not no break at...

The Least Official Natalino Appreciation Thread

I actually ended up grabbing the lone yellow (according to the webpage, "marzipan" according to the tag) Shetland that came back in stock in the sales, and upon receipt...I must say I instantly fell in love. Colour is very wearable as expected from pictures, definitely not a bright yellow. But...

    OFFICIAL Simon Crompton thread (PermanentStyle.com)

I certainly don't think the coat warrants such an outrageous price, but let's for the sake of argument assume that it does because it's just that expensive to make (with a typical margin included ofc). Then that means bespoke tailoring's value is utterly and completely gone. I mean, it largely...
