The Official Thrift / Discount Store Bragging Thread Part III (Sept 2018-)

I love my c30 and that AWD swap would be a dream! I got into Volvo’s because of that AWD Polestar C30 they teased the world with back in ‘09. That and I really wanted the Focus RS before we had them in the states and the C30 was a pretty close alternative. I enjoy cars but my wrench capabilities...

Walked into a store today and found a handful of Brioni suits and some other stuff. Walked out of the thrift store to see that someone hit and ran my parked car.

Looking for some help IDing a possible maker. I know this is next to nothing to go on. Grabbed this leather jacket today, it’s a gorgeous item with the right details, deerskin leather and riri zippers, and construction is top notch. Made in Italy. Any ideas? These are the only tags on the item.

Today: The Pendleton seems to be from the 50s. Probably shouldn’t have bothered because there is some moth damage and in hind site the comps are meh. My gut said to take it home tho so we’ll see.

I didn’t know they’ve used so many. Explains a lot though, the stuff I’ve found from them has been alllll over the place. Some of it is not so great, and some of it is really good. Like this calf skin nubuck (?) blouson I found a year ago,I wear itat least once a week.

Almost didn’t go out yesterday. the Burb is NWT and full suit, Faconable is full suit, Eyesayuh, cashmere blend overcoat with great collar, and B-3 Bomber XXXL (real leather, faux shearling) figures it was worth it for $10.

I found a raincoat of theirs about two months back. I was impressed by it. It was a solid flip to boot and pretty fast <2weeks. putting Mr. Porter in the title seemed to help. I didn’t at first but when I added it the watch numbers went up fast.

I agree on all accounts. I think something else that makes it distinctive, at least to me, is how it fits into the Valstarino/A1 bomber look. I like how it, in its own way, fits into that ascetic in a way that no other piece of that kind of silhouette does. I was looking for an A-1 jacket for...

First time customer here. Just got my denim bomber. I love it! I was surprised to see when reading your measurements that I was a 42 - I am almost always a 44. But the jacket fits great. I have to ask, as an “athletic” fit person. I was pretty stoked to see your Wilhelm fit, but nothing in my...

Anyone need a lifetime supply of uber luxe pleated khakis? Size 32x28. Should be able to get you through a decade shuffleboard, yachting, and insider trading. Also grabbed a Burberry suit, NWT.

Not 2020 finds, but nearly 2020 finds from Sunday. I am getting pretty frustrated with my photos. I have a Sony DLSR, but it using it adds so much time to the listing process - extra equipment, extra set up, dicking around with the settings. For now I use my iPhone and edit and upload from...

Is that jacket longer than your usual? It looks like it and I dig it. I have a jacket that’s a bit longer and I don’t wear it because I’m afraid it’s to long, but this makes me want to try it out again!

I don’t think it’s necessarily a fail. I had a two week period where I found like 3 of them back to back to back visits. That was about 2 months ago and at the time the market was $80-$100 for a quick flip with the best pairs selling a bit higher. I left 1 and bout two, and the one a left was...

Ok, results are in. I am going to keep the Cucinelli, thanks @Purplelabel for the encouragement. It is the perfect kind of cashmere jacket that makes sense in Southern California and will be wearable basically all year. also decided to give the hole patch job try. Not horrible, not amazing...

I think the jacket may be worth the try. Is re-weaving the only option? What about a patch using a piece of fabric from elsewhere on the jacket? There is enough extra fabric to get a 1”x1” patch.

The rest of today’s finds. The waxed jacket is a waxed linen chore coat, pretty cool. Never heard of the brand, Work Rest Karma, seems nice but not many comps. Also, is Etro skeet? Guys, the Brunello has a hole in the shoulder, not huge but not small. Should I try to sell as is or attempt a...

Thanks! I had no idea, it is just very 90s. HUGE shoulders (I mean perfectly executed, but large) other wise pretty modern with double vent. The Napoli stuff just moves faster. In today’s news popped my cucci. Nearly fainted. Cashmere and fits me perfectly, I now have a huge dilemma.

Some cool stuff from the past 2 weeks. The carrol and co is velvet one button and amazing. The wrong isaia and some hideous gamos.
