    Anatomica sells a branded version of these woodlore shoe trees for the modified last. There’s enough give in the single bar that they fit the curve as well as I can imagine any tree would.

    Update, turns out I missed a reply from the boutique this morning. Basically “I can send this photo to the factory, but if it’s in the shop it passed QC. I will let you know their response.” I replied asking for an exchange… We’ll see how this resolves.

    Direct from the boutique, I did receive shoe bags, but brown box. I think they are likely switching over to the blue boxes with newer stock, but may still have some of the recycled left over.

    If this happened after a few wears I would contact the retailer. Maybe Alden directly depending on what they say. As I understand it, once there’s a tear in shell it’s on the way out. Hopefully you can just get a replacement.

    Thanks for all the info. I’m already in touch with the Saint-Honoré boutique, just wanted to check about duties. I’ve tried several sizes of 180 already. Their size guide suggests 9.5E, I’ve tried 9.5D and it was too small but pretty close so I’ll give that a shot.

    Is it common for Drakes to make significant errors with packaging/shipping? I received a jacket in 36 rather than the 46 I ordered, and though they’re covering return shipping have been rather frosty about the whole thing. Disappointing to say the least.
