  • Epaulet x Styleforum Alpine Loden Collection

Loden wool, woven in Tirol for centuries, is known for its resistance to cold and wetness. Our project in collaboration with Epaulet introduces Alpine Loden, a modern 18oz fabric blend of 75% merino wool and 25% nylon, woven in Italy. It's lighter, more durable, wind-resistant, and more comfortable than traditional Loden fabric. Partnering with Rochester Tailored Clothing, we offer custom garments like sportcoats, suits, and overcoats, made to your specifications. Learn more about the Loden collection here.

I think a totally unlined collar would collapse somewhat, but it’s also a heavy fabric, not one I’d pair a tie with. Bd is fine for it, or band collar like mine.

They said they're down to the final meters so maybe it's already out. I'd email them for sure.

I see, so it's basically a very light and smooth high twist. Sounds pretty perfect ha. Might need to fix this then..

Damn, just saw on insta they announced their 3-ply wool is being discontinued. As I assumed that was always a part of the core range, I've never prioritized it but I always wanted to try it in a drawstring or boxpleat, now I'm torn. Don't really have the budget at the moment, but I could make...

Everybody have a different preference. I think that fit looks spot on, I'd personally want it even longer in the body. That particular model is also not really meant to fit like a dress shirt I'd say, more like a second layer.

I’m usually a 45,5 or 46. Never tried proper Belgians but other brands like Baudoin&Lange I have to size up at least one full size. Even soft shoes like Loro Piana feels sort of tight in 46 but work because they’re so soft. Sadly I feel there’s too much risk of buying online. Since Stòffa seems...

I really want to try a pair of slippers, but I find shoes online hard. I've flat and wide feet, which usually poses some problems.

As a follow up on above question, is there a darker brown available too in the same bunch, and if so that’d be very interesting too.

Even their own models have different fits which sometimes looks too big to my eyes. Of course it all depends on what fit you want, I’d aim for something like this.

@luxire any chance you’re getting the lovely linen cotton canvas in some more colors? I was thinking navy again and also black?

It’d be interesting to see a photo to compare, I thought the wool pair fitted spot on for what they are.

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking too, it’s just something to get used to I guess. But I like the idea, adds a bit of flair/drama to the look.

Realized I forgot to swap out of my loafers before taking a pic with the coat.

How does people feel about lightweight coats in general? I don't see much practical use but I like the idea stylistically. Well, practical use would be instead of a light jacket I suppose, the idea of a coat for those conditions is just new to me.
