  • Epaulet x Styleforum Alpine Loden Collection

Loden wool, woven in Tirol for centuries, is known for its resistance to cold and wetness. Our project in collaboration with Epaulet introduces Alpine Loden, a modern 18oz fabric blend of 75% merino wool and 25% nylon, woven in Italy. It's lighter, more durable, wind-resistant, and more comfortable than traditional Loden fabric. Partnering with Rochester Tailored Clothing, we offer custom garments like sportcoats, suits, and overcoats, made to your specifications. Learn more about the Loden collection here.

Seems like the coat I have matches the measurements on the web page pretty spot on!

Permanent Style / Private White Donegal Coat / Size 5 (L)

I normally wear 44-46 for jackets, 36-38 for trousers. The coat is definitely designed to be worn with something underneath it, I mostly do thick knits. It was designed to be somewhat loose and roomy.

Permanent Style / Private White Donegal Coat / Size 5 (L)

This is a gorgeous brown donegal tweed coat. Very heavy and substantial, it will wrap you warm during the winter. Pocket liners made of cashmere for an extra luxurious feel. Unfortunately, it doesn't get cold enough here for me to justify keeping it. It has been worn rarely and is as new. Colour...

Unfunded Liabilities: a/k/a The Cloth Thread

I've got a suit in the green tweed. Trousers are holding up OK, I regularly also wear the jacket separately.

I don't mind a white/black PoW sport coat. However, I find that as I get older and more sedate in my tastes, I tend to go for the Platonic "ideal" versions of patterns. Consequently, I don't really like the sharkskin PoW you have here. Rather, I prefer the more classic version as you could find...

Some shirts and chinos here. Unfortunately, the grey Oxford shirt was not available in my size. What would be a good alternative?

I've gotten rid of my Drake's jackets. I'm a L as well and they just looked comical on me. Shame as I like the design and fabrics.

As a 190cm guy who used to be close to 120kg, I never needed more than 2,5m for a jacket.

I've got a length of Loro Piana Mare to be made up this spring. It's really nice for a slightly less formal but still sufficiently businesslike blazer suit.

Just about every jacketing bunch imaginable will have a few. Personally, I rather like Marling and Evans undyed ones, as well as those in the Loro Piana Sopra Visso book.

what they also seem to do is use these archive sales to upload a bunch of stuff from the factory store. I’ve seen quite a few things come along from there.

Doesn't Marling and Evans have something similar?

Unfunded Liabilities: a/k/a The Cloth Thread

I think where part of the idea of seasonality is about utility, another part is about convention, and the convention often starts leading a life of its own as it gets codified into "rules". It's easy to spot whether you might be cold in a mock leno blazer in winter (utility), but if you're not...

All of the above would fit your purpose, I think. I tend to prefer a slightly lighter shade of navy, but that's a matter of taste. The glen check would be slightly less versatile in terms of pairing, as you'd need either a solid shirt or tie (I tend to combine 2 patterns maximum, pocket square...
