  • Epaulet x Styleforum Alpine Loden Collection

Loden wool, woven in Tirol for centuries, is known for its resistance to cold and wetness. Our project in collaboration with Epaulet introduces Alpine Loden, a modern 18oz fabric blend of 75% merino wool and 25% nylon, woven in Italy. It's lighter, more durable, wind-resistant, and more comfortable than traditional Loden fabric. Partnering with Rochester Tailored Clothing, we offer custom garments like sportcoats, suits, and overcoats, made to your specifications. Learn more about the Loden collection here.

I disagree with this statement. My camelhair cardigan is definitely softer than my lambswool ones

Where are you based? As others have said, for 1800 EUR you can get several mtm/bespoke options in Italy, Spain and the UK.

    The Overcoat Thread

even better - serves as a stylish coat that works great with a suit (particularly if you have a big chest), and an in-promptu place for lunch.

    The Overcoat Thread

I’d say it’s only “customey” if you make it so - It works fine with tailored stuff (I think).

    Ongoing Bespoke Projects

Took delivery today of this beautiful 3 piece (waistcoat not in the picture) single breast Magee herringbone donegal tweed cut by Fred Nieddu. Quite possibly the best first-commission experience and fit of any tailor I’ve worked with.

Agree - I think both work well, and give completely different vibes.

In Defense of the Low Armhole

I think you are using a few examples that happen to look casual, regardless of armhole height. I don’t think there’s much correlation between one and the other. Lower armholes look, as you pointed out, less conforming, because that’s effectively what they are - designed with a “one size fits...

    The Official Dieworkwear Appreciation Thread

I think it’s all about demeanor and stance. I don’t consider myself handsome or cool, and I don’t need to. I just need to be happy with whatever I choose to wear! :)

I own a Panico jacket cut from Drapers Magic Cashmere (330 g/m). Really nice and light, warm, and has a very soft hand. Picture here:

Thanks!! The Motoluxe one looks really cool, I agree, but for the price you can have something bespoke made (depending on location of course)

I actually own one of these too :) I've wore it over separates and a turtleneck with decent success. I'll try to take pictures next time.

Dark blue/navy flannel sports coat. Works great for me - goes great with a pair of flannel trousers in the same cloth, brown/tan trousers as well as denim, Fox Flannel. Can’t remember the weight but I can look it up.

    Shirtmakers in Napoli

For those choices, Golia will have a few options. Camiceria Piccolo on Chaia 41 will have more to offer.

    Shirtmakers in Napoli

Golia is a bit more limited - although I don't care much as I am fairly "traditional" in my choices and usually order regular business whites and blues. They are pretty much around the corner from Piccolo, so you could always go and select something there and take it with you. Avitabile...

    Shirtmakers in Napoli

Based on personal experience: - Golia will be under 250 EUR and can make a trial shirt in 2 days if they are not busy. Maria (the daughter) speaks some English, but not a lot. - Avitabile has English-speaking folks, is probably in the 250 EUR range, but not sure if they can get something done...
