  • Epaulet x Styleforum Alpine Loden Collection

Loden wool, woven in Tirol for centuries, is known for its resistance to cold and wetness. Our project in collaboration with Epaulet introduces Alpine Loden, a modern 18oz fabric blend of 75% merino wool and 25% nylon, woven in Italy. It's lighter, more durable, wind-resistant, and more comfortable than traditional Loden fabric. Partnering with Rochester Tailored Clothing, we offer custom garments like sportcoats, suits, and overcoats, made to your specifications. Learn more about the Loden collection here.

My man, how. On earth. Did you get your hands on a pair of those? I'll be honest - The Internet pics of the brandy run from 2013? 2014? Are what got me into Viberg in the first place and those have forever been the ne plus ultra unobtainables. Totally insane boots J, congrats! I wore my...

    Denim advice for weird body

Do you have a pair of pants that you love? I ask only because all you have to do is get close with the right pair of denim and then have them tailored. The US has Railcar, I've used this service and it rocks: https://railcarfinegoods.com/products/leg-tapering-service You send them the new...

Carmina Shoes - Definitive Thread (reviews, advice, sizing, etc...) - official thread.

10 D - I sized way down in both my C#8 and snuff suede LHS. The 10.5 D fit similarly to the Pina loafer, and I prefer a snug fit on my loafers/boat shoes/slip-ons/etc. Unlike the Carminas, I had the luxury of trying various sizes before buying rather than roll the Internet sizing dice so I was...

Carmina Shoes - Definitive Thread (reviews, advice, sizing, etc...) - official thread.

Happy to help! My Rain suede wholecuts are 9.5 and fit well, but sometimes with those I wonder if I could have also sized down a half to a 9. Rain feels cavernous to me. But the 9.5 Rain has my heel and the ball of my foot locked, and feel/fit almost identically to the Pina loafers in UK 10...

Carmina Shoes - Definitive Thread (reviews, advice, sizing, etc...) - official thread.

Thanks Karl. And thanks to Carmina for a lighter-brown shell loafer option that didn't involve my name on an Alden wait list. If I'm honest, I am a sucker for the LHS, but this is a fine alternative and I can ignore the ravello/whiskey cravings since these work so well.

Carmina Shoes - Definitive Thread (reviews, advice, sizing, etc...) - official thread.

My Pina 80440s definitely have a lot of toe space. I think I have said it before, but I probably could have gone down a half size and been fine, but after a few years of wear these have broken in to be pretty much perfect. There is still a slight bow to the collar that I thought might go away...

RANCOURT & Co. Shoes - Made in Maine

I own both shell and CXL loafers/mocs/slip-ons and I can't say that I prefer one over the other. I love both materials, I find them both to be extremely comfortable both lined and unlined, and both respond very well to reconditioning when needed. Shell just doesn't stretch as much. Or at all...

Amaretto 2020s after their first Cordovan cream treatment and brushing. They darkened a bit after product but dried fine. They may be slightly darker now with a bit of the super orange tint subdued - I'm totally fine with it. Shade: Sun: I hope everyone's week is going...

RANCOURT & Co. Shoes - Made in Maine

Thanks, Rancourt hit a serious home run with these! Being just-conditioned and brushed hides the scars/scuffs pretty well, at least for a while. They haven't seen much product and seemed a bit dry, so I figured it was time.

RANCOURT & Co. Shoes - Made in Maine

6 years on these caramels and the color evolution has been great. They have unquestionably darkened and reddened way beyond their original light tan (with weird pink tones in some light) and the brass hardware and stitching has become really pronounced as a result. Sun shots post cordovan...

Thunderdome wrap-up: There's only one other pair of shoes that I have spent as much time in - Last year's Patina Thunderdome EasyMocs, and these Quoddys have definitely held up better to the past 7 months of constant wear. At the end of last year's Dome, the EasyMocs were so hammered that they...

Amaretto today, their 4th time out since early(ish) 2021 delivery. It's sad, WFH has me in mocs or some sort of house slob slip-on 99% of the time so I forced myself to wear something real when I went out today. :brick: Although I did wear my suede slippers out the other day, so I had...

It's a good question and I noticed the same - They usually Trumpet the Horween association where applicable as with the recent olive run: https://www.quoddy.com/collections/horween-olive-collections This is purely anecdotal, but I have Quoddys from 2012 to the recent Canoe Mocs purchase and I...

Yep - They absolutely did and I bet you're right on the money about the laces being the culprit.

    Quoddy Boat Shoes MEGATHREAK

Oh yeah, those mofos scream comfort. Nice. Had this exact same hot spot with my pair of EasyMocs - Weirdly enough, it was when they returned from a resole and they were never anything but perfectly comfortable beforehand. They are also CXL, they had stretched out about as much as they were...
