  • Epaulet x Styleforum Alpine Loden Collection

Loden wool, woven in Tirol for centuries, is known for its resistance to cold and wetness. Our project in collaboration with Epaulet introduces Alpine Loden, a modern 18oz fabric blend of 75% merino wool and 25% nylon, woven in Italy. It's lighter, more durable, wind-resistant, and more comfortable than traditional Loden fabric. Partnering with Rochester Tailored Clothing, we offer custom garments like sportcoats, suits, and overcoats, made to your specifications. Learn more about the Loden collection here.

How many miles did you run today?

Nearly 9 miles this morning with some intervals at the track and then a trip to the gym for a 30 minute spin class.

    Poor man's watch thread

I’ve been wearing this the past couple weeks. Bought it new in Japan in 1998 or ‘99 and still get plenty of use out of it.

Things That Are Bothering You, Got You All Hibbeldy-Jibbeldy, or just downright pissed, RIGHT NOW!

My wife recently threw out my favorite wooden spoon after I left it leaning on a hot saucepan one too many times and it finally charred through too much for her liking. I should have gone on a kitchen strike.

Yeah, but how enjoyable would those extra 5 years had been?

    Poor man's watch thread

I had the same watch a while back and loved it but you're right it is massive, so I ended up parting ways with it. That was like a decade ago and last year I was sort of lamenting the sale so I went online looking to see what Eterna was currently offering that might be the same or similar but...

    Things you just don't get

The people across the street are building an outdoor kitchen and a big patio in their backyard with tons of stone and some pretty extravagant looking landscaping and lighting but it appears they have one person doing all the work. They've been working on it since early March and I've never seen...

Random Fashion Thoughts (Part 3: Style farmer strikes back) - our general discussion thread

I'll echo the Luxire recommendation but I'll add that if you already own a suit that you're really happy with the fit of and can send that to them, you might get better results. I haven't ordered from Luxire in a few years but they used to allow so many customizations of the measurements that it...

How many miles did you run today?

9 miles this morning including 10x800 meters at the track with 200+ meters of walking rest between each segment. I managed to keep those 800 meter segments around an average pace of about 3:22.

Random Fashion Thoughts (Part 3: Style farmer strikes back) - our general discussion thread

Good to know. I love a good lobster roll and RH is in the process of building a new store here in our downtown with a rooftop restaurant. Speaking of RH... we now currently have 3 RH locations in our tiny downtown, all within about 2 blocks of each other. There were some delays with the new...

    Poor man's watch thread

That's a steep price for a Yema. It's a sharp looking watch (FWIW though, I prefer the color scheme of the older version but also prefer the case with no crown guards) but I had a terrible experience with the movement and accuracy in a Yema Navygraf a few years back and have read a bunch of...

How many miles did you run today?

There are lots to choose from that time of year but in September there's the Air Force Marathon in Dayton, Ohio. I've run it a couple of times and it's a surprisingly tough course - much more rolling topography than I would have expected; a couple long, lonely out-and-back stretches along the...

I’m only quoting this gem so it’s not lost forever. Thank you Wizard Larry!

How many miles did you run today?

10 miles on the dot (I had to do a couple laps around my circular driveway to get there at the end) this morning. My first run into double digits since September 24th of last year when I did about 12.5. 🤘

We've always had pretty good luck with our AT&T service. Comcast on the other hand can eat a bag of rotten a55holes for all I care.

You should take a break from the cheese/travel show and cleanse your palate with some Encino Man.

    Poor man's watch thread

Aren't there smaller, less intrusive, things like a FitBit or Aura device you could wear for the health monitoring functions? Maybe it's worthwhile to look into one of those if you're feeling self conscious about being seen wearing two watches simultaneously and don't want to give up your "dumb"...

How many miles did you run today?

7.7 miles slow and easy on Sunday morning, my longest run since sometime last September. It felt good to get a bit more mileage in! Back to the track this morning for another 5x800 interval day and I managed to get all of those intervals well under 3:30. 👍

A professional org I am a member of just announced that their 2025 annual conference will be in Sacramento. I'm already looking forward to going to an Oakland Las Vegas Sacramento Athletics game while I'm out there! 🤣

    The Official RRL Thread

This. There are definitely some great PRL items and the fact that they can generally bought at a substantial discount is a big plus. The problem with buying PRL online is sifting through the crap. At least with RRL, the selection is so much smaller that it makes it easier to find the good...
