    Riccardo Bestetti Bespoke projects.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but my experience with Marco was great. His communication was great, trial shoes were delivered timely, and his fit correction advice was perfect. I purchased my wedding shoes from him, and they were the most beautiful shoes I’ve ever seen. Fit was also on-point...

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

Does anyone have an opinion on the 5227, 5196, 5119, or 5146 as a first Patek? I’m mulling over simplicity vs complications. Also eyeing a Lange 1 moon phase.

What Are Your Thoughts On Stretch Fabrics?

As someone 6’5 235 with a 14” drop, it’s nice to not have to buy MTM or custom for all of my professional or semi-casual attire. A little stretch makes clothing that’s not a perfect fit, bearable.

Top 14 list of shoes under $500 for newbies

I love how per usual, these lists turn into bickering about what should and should not have been included, along with getting into the semantics of street vs retail price.

The Chicago thread - local recommendations, trunk shows, goings-on, etc.

What are the going rates nowadays? I knew an older woman who was a member there. She said that they were trying to target a younger crowd.

    Large metal watches with tailoring.

I oftentimes wear a date just while in a suit. Also, try wearing a dress watch on a leather strap in hot and humid climates. Not an ideal choice if you’d like to preserve the life of said strap.

Do people notice your shoes ?

I recently had a sales associate at a prominent watch boutique in chicago mention that he loved my shoes. Asked if they were EG. I was wearing StC wingtips, so he was clearly knowledgeable about nice footwear. As mentioned by others previously, I believe that if someone is into footwear, they’re...

I have the MOD105 in Russian calf, and as you can see by @Alan Bee ‘s pic, it’s a bit more textured than the mountain calf.

    The Despos Thread

I second this. I lived across the street from his shop in Chicago for a couple of years and never realized it. Now I’m itching for one of his suits. Just got married, had a baby, and bought a house so may be a while until I can afford it, but I still appreciate hearing about people’s experiences.

    Meermin Mallorca Shoes

Edit: despite the above comment, I’m good with moving on from this matter for the time being if everyone else is.

    Meermin Mallorca Shoes

This makes no sense whatsoever. A defective shoe is a defective shoe regardless of price point. Taking a new pair of shoes directly to the cobbler to fix defects is asinine IMO. Clearly you have a different perception or appreciation for money than me, because I find that completely unacceptable.
