The Armoury - Official Affiliate Thread

RTW is designed to fit an average size. If you are above or below average in body dimensions you will need to explore options. I noticed early on Styleforum that many of the people who had the most knowledge and experience with MTM and bespoke where due to their own fit challenges so they had to...

    The Official Dieworkwear Appreciation Thread

Back to @dieworkwear , I was catching up on Derek's posts today. #Menswear topics aside, I just love his trolling of a few political folks, especially his "friend" Rudy Giuliani.

Gianlucca has Pommella as well as his PML RTW line which is the same base fit, according to him. Unless you have unusual requirements I would suggest that you try his PML RTW line which is half the price and the quality is wonderful. Plus Gianlucca sources fantastic fabrics for both lines.

That was a wonderful event. So well organized and best of all I was able to meet so many people in person that I am still in contact with today, especially when I travel. Bruce and I are hoping to meet up on my next rip to NYC.

    The Official Dieworkwear Appreciation Thread

I've been fortunate to hang out with Bruce a number of times. He is such an enjoyable guy who knows exactly what works for him in color and fit for two reasons. 1) he is a great observer who can describe exactly why something works without getting overly nerdy and 2) he has worked all of his...

@gdl203 The Rota single pleat in brown linen. When it says size 50, is that the actual size with the elastic back fully stretched? Or is it a size 50 with no stretching?

What TV Series Are You Streaming Lately?

Can't believe I'm just getting around to watching Band of Brothers originally released in 2001. This WWII series is impressive with the way the (true) story is crafted, including brief interviews with actual soldiers, the change in focus on people and situations in each episode, scenery and...

The Ultimate Rug and Carpet Thread

We had this 1890's Navajo blanket recently installed. It came from Shiprock Santa Fe. Our home is almost entirely neutral so the red and orange are a wonderful pop of color. We had a smaller, similar one but we wanted something larger and were delighted to find this one. As with all of our...

The Desert Boot and Chukka appreciation/review thread

I see that Crockett & Jones has a new chukka called the Bibury. It has a rubber sole. Hard to tell for sure from the photos but it looks like a somewhat softer rubber sole which would interest me for added comfort. Has anyone tried it? If so, how was it?

I think a black or earthtone velvet jacket can be worn during the daytime with jeans and suede loafers for a nice casual "city" look or for travel. IMO, jewel tone colors are best for more formal looks such as grey flannels and evening events so yes, those would be more limited.

    JM Weston appreciation thread

Looked at Mr Porter yesterday for Weston 180's. I noticed one of the new 180's has different sizing instructions than the other 180's. I ran into this last Fall in France at the main Weston store in Paris. The newly released Taupe suede 180's fit very different than the dark suede 180's I had...

To each his own. I prefer buttoned pleated pockets. Still on the fence about the cuffs.
