Matching dark chili shoes to belt

I’m looking at Allen Edmonds St Johns double monk strap shoes in dark chili. I think I’d prefer an oxblood or burgundy but they don’t offer it so dark chili it is. However they don’t sell a dark chili belt. What should I match it to? I am looking to pair with jeans and chinos, maybe some slacks...

Where do you buy gray socks?

My choice of socks for any days where I wear my brown shoes (about half the time) are middle gray socks. Not too dark, not too light. Where do you buy your gray socks? I’m struggling to find them based on these desires. Relatively inexpensive - Socks aren’t cheap but I’m not interested in $15...

Ask A Question, Get An Answer... - Post All Quick Questions Here (Classic menswear)

I was a BB over the weekend and felt a dress shirt made out of their Royal Oxford fabric. It was amazing. I loved how soft it was and how breathable it seemed. Does anyone have experience with this fabric and have any opinions? Also, does anyone make similar/identical fabrics for less?

Blue Suit - With or without gold buttons

I just bought a new suit (got for free actually) which is navy blue. It comes with black buttons which seem to work fine. However, I do happen to like the idea of gold buttons on a navy blue suit. What are people's thoughts on changing this? Does it limit what shirts and ties I can wear with it...

    ECCO Men's Fenn Tie Oxford,Black,44 EU/10-10.5 M US

The Fenn Tie is an all-year-round shoe with a sporty twist. It features a textile lining that is highly breathable and moisture-absorbent. The removable leather-covered inlay sole with ECFSÖ increases air circulation for the perfect inner climate. The direct-injected PU sole with leather welt...

Can I polish Ecco Fenn shoes?

They are styled after athletic shoes but are meant for a slightly dressed down "formal" look. It seems to work well with a button-up long sleeve shirt and my pair of Levi's 501s in dark blue. Yes, they're leather, but I am not sure they'll take the polish very well. I'm also not looking forward...

Can I polish Ecco Fenn shoes?

I picked up a pair of Ecco Fenn shoes (http://global.ecco.com/en/collection/men/shoes/fenn-520614-58047?data=men/shoes&id=520614-58047) today so I can wear it with jeans and possibly some slacks. While I'm trying to get away from the gym shoe look, they do work well. I'm curious though, are...

    Overshoes for E width shoe

I will keep that in mind. I don't really want to spend $100 on them but if it protects my $365 shoe then it makes a lot of sense. Earlier today I saw a thread with some people saying the SWIMS eventually leave marks on the shoes, namely brown shoes. Have you seen this problem?

    SWIMS overshoes

This is frustrating to hear. I am trying to find some overshoes and don't want it leaving spots on my brown shoes. I live in Chicago so the winter salt will get to shoes and cause some damage.

    Overshoes for E width shoe

I just bought some Allen Edmond Park Ave. in size 7.5 E. I always like to have overshoes to keep them in good shape, especially in the winter. Who makes overshoes for E width?

    Proper shoe maintenance

This is more of a 101 but I have a 6 month old pair of Allen Edmonds Clifton shoes and I'm trying to understand the best method to maintain them. I apply shoe conditioner first and then spread black polish on it. Using the soft cloth I put a very limited amount of water on the shoe and buff...

Visible t-shirt under button up shirt?

I work in the IT industry where formal is mostly button up shirts, most often with a button down collar. Nothing too unique, see http://www.josbank.com/menswear/shop/Product_11001_10050_381533 as one of many examples. A v-neck is inherent in this outfit without buttoning the top button. Many men...

    Polish shoes

I recently purchased some Cole Haan Men's Air Keating slip-on shoes for work (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004NNFK0A/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00). I don't recall if I got the Black or Black Polish. Either way, it is black. I've never polished shoes before and wonder if different materials...

I'm confused about men's shoe sizing

I don't think it even comes down to brand as much as how measurements are done. I didn't even try on a 6.5 shoe to see if it fits. They measured me and it came in at 6-6.5 D. I must look into this Mr. Porter a bit.

I'm confused about men's shoe sizing

I've been trying to update my wardrobe which means getting a couple new pairs of nice shoes for work. I went into the men's store and asked for a size 8.5. This is the same size as I've worn for years. Bowling alleys, gym shoes, even the dress shoes I have at home are 8 or so. I tried on a very...

Whites of the pockets peeking out

I have a few pairs of jeans which will very often show a little bit of the white lining of the pockets. The denim will fold a certain way bringing a little bit of the inside out. Is this standard or just indicative of a lower quality cut? I can provide pictures if I wasn't clear.
