The Official Alden Thread for 2024 - Share Reviews, Sizing, Advice, and Photos.

I only have boots on the Barrie. I have 2 pair of tassel loafers and short wing bluchers in 12E on the Aberdeen...which isn't much of a help ..I'd say not a chance when trying on the loafers..but the bluchers seem to have plenty of room and I'd go with "maybe". The loafers have always been...

Hi all, Does anyone see any issues with these boots? I'm not seeing anything obvious. I contacted the seller and asked as to issues/markings/etc and the reply was to "look at the photos". I was a bit turned off by the reply but figured it's probably not a shoe person versus a re-seller of...

Hi all, Is there a resource as to how many inches/cm the different Alden lasts comess out to be for length and width? I.e. Plaza last. 11 5 D would fit a foot 11.2 inches long and 4 inches wide versus Aberdeen 11.5 D fitting a 11.3 inch foot and 3.8 inch width..

Thanks for the reply. That's what I've been pushing. I could perhaps see it if they were EGs at half price that had obviously been worn only once or twice.

** Quintessential Crockett & Jones Thread ** (reviews, quality, etc...)

Hi All, Seems a lot of people buy second hand shoes here? I don't have any experience in doing so. I'm not into vintage and the usual "savings" amounts haven't been enough to convince me to go 2nd hand. Either way... My brother found a pair of C&J Cottesmore Jodhpur boots. I hate to...

Thank you for the advice. I'll look into it tomorrow. Other than having them a long time, they don't have any particular sentimental value. I hate to see them go, but if fixing them is going to cost anywhere near a new pair, I'd go with a new pair.

The death of the George twins seems inevitable. The shell has torn where the tongue meets the vamp area. My cobbler pronounced them dead and stated that any fix wouldn't last long. Only 15 years old yet so many good times together..oh, well..just means I need to purchase a replacement soon. 😅...

I hang my head in shame. Guess I should pay better attention..and wear my middle aged man glasses🙄. Perhaps the beautiful split toe distracted me? Yeah, I'll stick with that. 😅

I might somehow be mistaken here..but 99.99% certain those are split-toes and not saddles..😁

Edward Green Appreciation: Pictures, Info, and Where to Buy

Mine are quite similar and the color stated on the box is Dark Oak Antique. If you really want to know you can write Edward Green and politely ask them for the details to include color and year of manufacture

I haven't worked wood since high school shop class back in 1990. My results would not look anywhere near as nice as the work you did on that box. Thank you for sharing photos of it. Some things just seem to slip the mind. I could hit the antique stores as actionjbone suggested, and now that...

**The Official Shoe Care Thread: Tutorials, Photos, etc.**

Thank you for your response. I just started thinking about it yesterday and will look into other boxes . Of course I found it a bit pricey but wasn't sure if maybe it was made of a more expensive wood. I was wanting something that looks nice enough to be left out and isn't obviously a shine...

**The Official Shoe Care Thread: Tutorials, Photos, etc.**

Hi all, I was looking to refill some care products and ran into the Saphir Intendant Box. Looks nice enough. Seems a good method of keeping things organized. Comes with 5 creams, 4 waxes, 4 brushes, a cloth, and a shoe horn. Still costs north of $500 and I wonder if it might be a bit small when...
