As a younger man with an interest in classic and traditional menswear, how do I avoid looking dated or much older than I am?

appreciated. so, one of my things has been to sort of develop a style I could keep wearing for a long time and refine. I feel I've done that. Here's me 10 years ago, age 27: And like 6 months" ago, age 36:

As a younger man with an interest in classic and traditional menswear, how do I avoid looking dated or much older than I am?

Yeah and no offense taken, but in my personal experience here in the South and Midwest of the USA where I've lived the last 10 years, while I surely looked older than my age 10 years ago, I don't think anybody would've pegged me at late 40s, even now. Makes me curious to poll some youths I know...

LOL you've mentioned this before. I guess this goes to prove much of this has to do with where someone is from, and also how tricky it is to manage how others perceive you in the abstract. It can be very culturally relative, so what a Frenchman (presumably?) in Paris judging by a few pics on the...

As a younger man with an interest in classic and traditional menswear, how do I avoid looking dated or much older than I am?

To answer this, it's a little bit dependent on what style you like. If you love the American Ivy sack suit from the mid-century and want to pursue that style… that's going to make you look old. But if you like just a generally nice tailored look, there are some options. I've tried doing this and...

    Berg and Berg

Pretty sure Cavour switched to making in China so they could upgrade quality without an attendant huge jump in pricing. Buttonholes are stitched by hand on the fronts (they use faux buttonholes on the sleeves), etc. That's how Kevin made it sound anyway, and having compared the make from the...

The Least Official Natalino Appreciation Thread

I've met and had meals with Nathan and I don't think this is the case. The brand started in a different place aesthetically, with a smaller product lineup, and has evolved in time to what it is now. Nathan created the jacket and trouser silhouette and design based on his own Neapolitan bespoke...

@NickPollica I’ll be in NYC next week, was thinking of swinging by the store, probably Thursday but maybe Friday. Do you normally hang around the shop, and/or might you be there either of those days?

fabric looks like it's supposed to be like that—a slubby casual fabric, maybe with a linen component? loose button hole thread is less than ideal however.

can someone do the work for me and tell me about this bremont drama? just like 2 links. the watch adoring press doesn't cover this so i'm left with meme accounts that are so incredibly inside baseball i have no idea what's going on. then again maybe i don't care…

"He has not appeared in public since, but his wife Corinna said in a 2021 Netflix documentary, “We live together at home. We do therapy. We do everything we can to make Michael better and to make sure he’s comfortable.”" Dang, that is so incredibly sad.

The 41mm BB shows how well Tudor understands the market. They have the 39mm models for the small-wrist nerds who talk about watches all day on forums. And now they have the 41mm model that looks exactly like the Submariner* for the regular people who want a normal looking modern watch. *fugly...

If you're asking about whether there are 54R's, Nathan told me their sales showed the majority who needed 54, needed 54L. So they are only stocking 54L this season.

Those look great Jonathan! In my experience with off-white trousers, they'll look more see-through indoors. In outdoor and direct lighting, they reflect more light so they're less transparent.

I wrote a post about tobacco linen a while back and now weirdly can identify by looking sometimes. Natalino's new tobacco is Bryson (Nathan confirmed when I asked him). The Bryson tobacco leans red rather than orange.

The Desert Boot and Chukka appreciation/review thread

I just ordered these from Sid Mashburn: https://shopmashburn.com/products/sid-mashburn-chukka-boot-snuff-suede-s53461 Made in Spain. $450. Wondering who might be making them. They fit small, though. I ordered my normal size 11US, and on the box the manufacturer label lists 45 (most EU makers...
