Offical TRICKERS shoes and boots thread

It was that, combined with the mountaineering style clips that in my view suggest them as technical hiking boots but it's all down to interpretation I guess. Either way I feel we've exhausted the Corbet chat.

Have you watched the video? That's exactly how they're being marketed.

Agreed, they have had way better makeups. My comment on the soles was obviously just my own subjective opinion - I just wish they would cater to more tastes by varying it up.

Here's your answer - these have just been added. Still persisting with those bloody ugly soles sadly. https://www.thebureaubelfast.com/shop/brand/trickers-for-the-bureau

This talk of the bureau reminded me of these as I have regretted not buying them in the sale ever since @Munky beat me to it. This was completely down to my indecision and I was very pleased for munky obviously 😀 I'm keen to know how they're ageing munky so any pics would be appreciated so I...

Maybe they're waiting on a new batch? The last one was pretty uninspiring really, whereas the previous had a good mix of leathers and sole options.

It looks cool on your mum but I think women tend to pull off the oversize look better than men.

    Offical Barbour Thread

I have the original and classic in both models. The Beaufort is my favourite personally but I'm 5ft 10 and it is longer than the Bedale. The Bedale has storm cuffs but no game pocket - unless you're going shooting this really doesn't matter. I personally think the Bedale looks a little boxy...

At least those that transition won't need to buy a new pair of hiking boots.

** Quintessential Crockett & Jones Thread ** (reviews, quality, etc...)

Anyone checked out the closing down sale at Matches? 40% discounts on a few C&J models. Still some pretty standard sizes left too. What's really annoying is that they have the roughout Conistons I paid £350 for a couple of months ago at £300. Oh well.

I agree that in decent weather, trail running shoes are best for general hiking, and this is what I tend to use. I guess some may prefer more ankle support though.

** Quintessential Crockett & Jones Thread ** (reviews, quality, etc...)

I too can't see any discernable differences in quality between a 25 year old pair that my friend has and my recently purchased pairs. Leather quality, construction and finishing appear identical. To say it's indisputable that the standards are universally lower is quite a claim and should be...

Of course, will PM so not to clog the Tricker's forum with irrelevant posts.

Offical TRICKERS shoes and boots thread

It's subjective of course, but I would choose a number of specialist hiking brands over the Tricker's. I do lots of very long hikes, ranging from 30-50km so value my walking boots being lightweight. I'd probably avoid GYW construction for this reason. I don't really care much for looks with...

Problem with these is, there are better looking boots for less money, and better hiking boots for less money.

Some outlet Bourtons from way back when. Colour remains a mystery.

These are for those who want to do a small hike around the park, probably also wearing their barbour jacket, and then go into their local pub to be seen in their stylish gear. Of course there are companies that make much more technical, waterproof, light and conformable hiking boots that belong...

Thanks, yeah I've seen that. Tricker's have the same woman rubbing wax paste with a sponge on almost every kind of leather they sell. I have a feeling they're better at making shoes than maintaining them.
