The Alden Buy, Sell, Trade (B/S/T) Thread

Looking to move along a pair of 9.5D Barrie captoe "Phoenix" boots from Ealdwine. Great boots in fantastic shape, but a bit too redundant with a pair of perf-toe on Grant that I reach for more often. Toe taps installed on double waterlock soles. Hooks up top, antique edges down below. I'll put...

The Official Alden Thread for 2024 - Share Reviews, Sizing, Advice, and Photos.

Speaking of Aram, I've been noodling on replacing a pair of well worn double leather soles on a pair of C8 perf. cap-toe boots to something else. I thought about Waterlock or even Dianite, but now I'm thinking Neocork (in black). I don't have any experience with it. I don't usually wear...

@RajunCajun great outfit! Would you share deets on the jacket?

It would be hard to say no to a Galway 2. Such a great boot.

SPIER & MACKAY - Official Affiliate Thread

Do you mean a patch chest pocket or the patch ticket pocket? If ticket pocket, any tailor can snip them out and you'll never see it on a textured material. I usually leave them, but I had one removed from a jacket where I really disliked the look.

Hey gents -- anyone have experience with a full-bellows tongue on boots? I'm thinking of a single MTO in suede, and I find that I need a tongue-pad sometimes to take up room in the shaft of the boot so the quarters are snug. Otherwise they come close to overlapping (maybe I have skinny...

Trying to find a new home for these gorgeous single-MTO snuff suede Galway 2 boots. Unfortunately they're a half size small for me. Size UK 9 325 last 270° flat welt 4 exposed eyelets + 4 speed hooks in antique brass Double-leather sole No pull-tab Shoe box and shoe bags included, but no...

Unfortunately too small, not too big.

I can't even begin to tell you how much it hurt. Mostly because I love them and wanted to wear them! 😩

I'll be selling a MTO Galway 2 in snuff suede soon in the B/S/T thread if anyone has a hankering for an apron toe and doesn't want to wait. Size 9, double leather, antique brass eyelets. Worn twice or maybe three times (but a 1/2 size too small for me).

Great outfit, @Nickchen3010! Can I ask about those sneakers? I like the color.

It would be great if we could get the Russian grain Coniston over the finish line before the price hike. We're only two members away. Anyone on the bubble who wants to commit?

** Quintessential Crockett & Jones Thread ** (reviews, quality, etc...)

I'm still hopeful for some comparisons between the fit of 325 and 379. Specifically, is the volume and length about the same between the two. 325 fits me well, but is as voluminous as I can go. If 379 is the same or narrower, it would be great. @Neville Southall you have both, yes? Can you...

I didn't realize you could have shoes re-lasted as a part of recrafting. I assumed it was always back on the original last. Exciting to know this.

Do you gents take the same size in the 325 and 379 last?

I didn't realize I'd be the only one looking for non-Ridgeway. But the other specs are so good, I'll put my objections aside. I'm still in! Specs look good.

    Crockett & Jones MTO Central

Sorry to make things even more confusing, but I would be interested in joining the Russian Grain group, too if the soles are double-leather or studded. I'm not as interested in Ridgeway. And depending on cost. I think brass eyelets would look nice, but I don't take a position on those or edges...

I have a preference for Dianite (or double leather, which I strongly prefer) over Ridgeway once we start narrowing down details.
