    The Overcoat Thread

IMHO, the Private White Donegal makes too much of a statement. I prefer something more subtle, eg. https://oconnellsclothing.com/oconnells-raglan-overcoat-magee-tweed-navy-hbone.html

Reasonably priced, Good Quality Classic Chinos

At least for dress slacks O'Connells short rise is too long for me. My guess is that chinos would be the same.

The Kamakura of Pants? (Best MTM option)

I would never trust an online operation at that price point. It is preferable to do MTM through a retailer who does the measurements of you and any trousers that fit well that you have brought along. Then if it doesn't work out the retailer either arranges a do-over or a full refund. That was my...

Reasonably priced, Good Quality Classic Chinos

Another question. Do any of these "classical" chinos come in short rise. 10", 10.5" including the waistband?

Reasonably priced, Good Quality Classic Chinos

Just checked out the Matsuya website. There is an error in English worthy of a Japanese officer in a World War 2 B movie , eg. ALL BLAND (That would be " All Brand(s)" among us gringos.

    J.Mueser for Buck Mason

From the website very limited selection, fabric looked plain, no patterns, eg. stripes, plaids, tweeds, etc. For people who live in denim and the like, and need a suit/jacket for rare occasions. Compared to Spier and McKay, or Sid Mashburn they offer very little. I am a customer of neither.

Looks like tailored clothing for those who seldom buy or have limited knowledge of tailored clothing. Otherwise, nice cuts.

SPIER & MACKAY - Official Affiliate Thread

Does their clothing run small? Last year I ordered a Harrington jacket in my regular jacket size, 44, and I could hardly close it. Admittedly, I had put on some weight, but even the shoulders were tight. I did not reorder. I found their refund procedure overly complicated and no one ever...

I love that film. I watch it at least once a year along with La Nuit de Varennes, Gettysburg, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs and Soprano re-runs. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/That_Night_in_Varennes

    Spring outerwear for classic style?

I would eliminate the field/safari jacket over a sport coat.

To me it looks like Mr Browne's inspiration might come from the iconic film The Russian Ark (2002) whose protagonist/narrator is the Marquis de Custine( right), an adherent of rollino over 180 years ago:
