That's not what I wanted to read today! I've been on a losing streak all summer (Exquisite Trimmings x2, Pediwear, Epaulet, NMWA, eBay), with 2 KW orders in progress. Even a $12 battery for my camera was "sent for further processing".
A light lavender plain oxford is highest on my wishlist, but I doubt you'd have any trouble moving pale pink or blue. I've seen a navy/white gingham oxford around that I think would make an excellent Fall shirt.
What happens if it's not purple? You are getting solid advice here - those ties are frankly awful. Sorry.
I could swear one of the affiliates stocked a purple and white shepherd's check, but I can't find it now. Vanda has one pictured in their swatches - you may want to drop them a line...
Is the shirting available for MTM limited to what is on the website, or would there be more swatches to flip through if I went in person? I ordered my first shirt in person recently, but I went in knowing which fabric I wanted from the website, and admittedly didn't look around much.
I'm not sure how unfinished stud holes would hold up, but even this is ignoring the fact that the shirt wouldn't have the texture of a tuxedo shirt.
Several forum sponsors carry affordable versions of these shirts (Kent Wang, Luxire at a glance). I know all too well how much weddings cost, but...
UPS is worse....the brokerage fee is a sliding scale based on the declared value. I used to have it bookmarked, but can't seem to find it right now. One time I ordered a pair of socks at a discount from the US, and the seller declared the pre-sale value. The difference of $3 caused the...
@luxire or anyone that might know: what is the weight of the classic blue Brembana oxford shirting? It feels significantly heavier than the G&R swatches I have, and I just wanted to confirm before ordering. Thanks.
I asked for them to "adjust pattern for square shoulders" to eliminate this, after seeing a graphic on another forum sponsor's website. This decreases the slope.
I believe (based on the same article) that the lines would run from near the collar points toward the armpits if you required...
I've made 4 or 5 orders over the past few years (both small and large $), and I'm yet to get dinged. I'm sure my luck will run out eventually, but the fact that they use USPS rather than various couriers really helps your odds.
After going back and forth with Luxire, it was pointed out to me that they measure sleeve width differently than most MTM manufacturers - they measure at the armhole rather than across the bicep. I'm not sure how they then determine how to taper the arm toward the cuff, but in my case it...
The point where they are too tapered is when they can't fall cleanly over your shoe, which is why a lot of people aim for 2/3 of their foot length. These pants are also too tight elsewhere, as evidenced by the pulling/lines.
Very nice. Can you elaborate on which collar you used and what changes you made? My favourite collar is on an old Borrelli that I was going to send in for replication (wide spread, 3.5" collar points).
More than just seweing on a pair of buttons - if you can't find matching buttons, you would be looking at replacing an entire set. At that price point you would do better for your money at Suit Supply.
