    Friday Challenge - Hats 4/30/2021

Yes, though I think that "they" consist of no one but Mikael, which is why fulfillment of orders takes a few months. You can see the photos that he took of my hat (unless they are of another that looks just like it) just before he sent it to me, on his blog...

    Friday Challenge - Hats 4/30/2021

Recently finished for me by Mikael of Hufvud. It's difficult to get the colors to appear truly in photos. I think the second photo gives the best idea of them.

    Choosing a suede loafer

Glad to have a recommendation from experience.

    Choosing a suede loafer

After considering further options, I declined into indecision, compounded by anxiety about whether any pair that I buy will fit me properly (this can be difficult with loafers). So I still haven't got a pair of suede loafers!

    How I hate narrow-leg trousers

Once again, I am caught underestimating the prevalence of bad taste.

    How I hate narrow-leg trousers

Not for me, but it certainly isn't narrow-legged.

    How I hate narrow-leg trousers

Thanks. I did not know of this company. https://bergbergstore.com/collections/trousers

    Yes, variety.

    How I hate narrow-leg trousers

I accept your point about positive approach versus negative reaction, but you seem to have missed my third paragraph. I'm fine with having narrow-leg trousers out there as an option. And if they were merely an option, as they should be, I would not object to them. I might even own a pair (as in...

    How I hate narrow-leg trousers

Ooh, forward pleats! I prefer single to double, but still, I'm glad to see them.

    How I hate narrow-leg trousers

I am happy with the trousers of so-called "contemporary" cut that I have gotten from Spier and MacKay; but I don't want all the trousers in my closet to be from the same maker.

    How I hate narrow-leg trousers

I hope so. On the other hand, if in a year's time all the trousers on sale are balloon-legged clown pants à la the nineties, I may be sorry to have wished for the present fad to end.

    How I hate narrow-leg trousers

I am so sick of narrow-leg trousers that I am beyond puking. When will they ever go away? Year after year, I say to myself that this stupid, repulsive, annoying fashion has to end; and every fall there are more narrow-leg trousers. Just today I got an ad in my Facebook feed for this business...

    Choosing a suede loafer

I have not worn blue jeans since I graduated from college almost 40 years ago, so I'm certainly not concerned with that pairing! But I do associate penny loafers with the Ivy League/trad look, for which the Aldens would be a better match. I have not yet made up my mind about which shape would...

    Choosing a suede loafer

Thanks for the observations, and the report about the flex welt. Glad to hear its claimed comfort confirmed by a wearer.

    Choosing a suede loafer

I would like to get a pair of penny loafers in brown suede---a dull medium brown, not a rich dark brown or a lighter polo color. I have found two models that look right to me in the photos on line, though one is described as "choko" (I have never seen chocolate that light in color) and the other...

    WAYWRN: Classic Menswear, Casual Style

I'm in a more northerly climate. Here I am dressed to go outside on a comparatively warm day for the time of year (temperature above 40 F).

Men's Hats: A Discussion Thread, Questions, Opinions, Suggestions...

The color that I chose for it was attractively designated by Hornskov as "mud"!

Men's Hats: A Discussion Thread, Questions, Opinions, Suggestions...

Thank you. I don't think that the hat is shellacked at all. It is nothing like my Dobbs, Stetson, and Biltmore hats, which are stiff. It will hold a dent if I get it into shape and don't touch it, but a stray touch will change the shape. I was hesitant to go for a walk with the hat on my head...
