    Cleverley appreciation thread

You and me both. I did note it so I don't expect it will be an issue but thanks for calling it out and good observation.

    Cleverley appreciation thread

It's funny you mentioned that cause I didn't even see it as I was walking around the room and as I was just casually wearing it but did see it in this picture after I took it. Not sure if that was a result of me leaning my body weight for this pic in conjunction with the shoes without soles.

Do people notice your shoes ?

Rarely from strangers but it has happened a handful of times. Family and friends have complemented me on my shoes but a lot of that is because they are more accustomed to sneakers and sandals. I do also get comments & questions from my tailors and from clothing/shoe retailer employees. Of...

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

Thanks. In many ways, I prefer these kind of watches where only real watch nerds will really know and where I otherwise fly under the radar. Patek makes some wonderful watches but for my next watch, I am mesmerized by the coin bezel, guilloche dial, and slim profile of a Breguet. Thinking a...

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

I hear you and as I transition more and more to classic menswear; my tastes and desires in watches also follow so I have less desire to have many divers in my collection. Of course, that won't stop me from potentially picking up a Glashütte Original SeaQ Panorama at some point either. :)

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

Chopard LUC Quattro white gold strap: George Cleverley 1786 Russian reindeer Not a new purchase but the strap is a new edition. After taxes I can start the hunt for my 50th birthday watch for next year. Thinking of adding a Breguet Classique to the collection

Are dress shoes worth maiming yourself for?

My experience wasn't as bad as yours but definitely felt like I was being upsold and they desperately talked down other alternatives like MTO or bespoke. I have the same type of feet and agree that they only had a few select models that were 3E.

Are dress shoes worth maiming yourself for?

There are also semi-bespoke options available out there. I speak from experience as I have notoriously wide feed with much narrower ankles with high insteps. Buying shoes that even fit has been a lifelong challenge. I have found some success with specific models from Alden and Allen Edmonds...

    St. Crispin's Appreciation Thread

Saint Crispin's. It's one of the shoes referenced in the dedicated section. :). Since it wasn't British, French, or Italian - it fell into the "other" section.
