    The Contentedness thread

I think the long gaps for posting here make sense. It takes time to let your stuff marinate.

    Bespoke western shirt?

Still rocking some donkey wool panta trousers. Seriously the best pants I've ever owned.

    The Official Dieworkwear Appreciation Thread

Made in NYC during covid I'd probably consider it a casualty of the times until proven otherwise.

Will NMWA restock the James Grose Aviation bomber for F/W, or can it be ordered through you?

    The Official Dieworkwear Appreciation Thread

I hadn't noticed the "patina" page on DBF before. I have a few pieces that have achieved that status and I wish I had more. It really is a matter of less being more because it takes repeated wearing and washing to get there. Aside from jeans and some very old common projects, I have a Loro Piana...

The Ultimate Portland (OR) Shopping Thread

Thanks. Kachka was on my list but didn't make it. Spent the weekend camping out at the Gorge so food plans got cut.

The Ultimate Portland (OR) Shopping Thread

Heads up it's now called Kinboshi. It was very good, as was the Khao Man Gai place next to it. Also ended up grabbing halibut fish and chips from Portland Fish Market in Woodstock which is a dish you just can't find in Texas and made me really happy.

    MC General Chat

This weekend I attended the UT graduation ceremony here in Austin, and my gosh America has a style problem. I could go on, but it ranged from Affliction jeans with untucked Nordstrom rack striped shirts to "I'm going to Costco" outfits to a few sad attempts at tailoring. I'm not the type of...

    The SW&D Music Appreciation Thread

I mean, Moctar is the one "getting it right" but if PF introduces him to a larger audience that's great. This video is impressive - a drug-fueled metaphorical interpretation of the events of Jan. 6th in two parts. Don't ask me what it means, I think the plot is a little fuzzy.

The End of the Sartorial Road

Well, it's not really "business" wear for me, it's going out to eat, etc. I wear it with blue jeans or Armoury sport chinos and a light blue shirt or even indigo-dyed t-shirt. I have several Rota trousers, I just don't wear them very much. I've got some nicer Inglese dress shirts in storage that...

The End of the Sartorial Road

I skipped this thread and finally read through it, enjoyably, last night. Not much to add except that the dilemma of having more things than I can realistically wear feels both wasteful and burdensome. I still occasionally feel like I need to buy this or that to resolve a styling problem "once...

The Ultimate Portland (OR) Shopping Thread

Thanks. I arrive the day before Sugerpine reopens so should be good. Will checkout the above recs. It's odd (refreshingly) to hear that you're still taking reasonable precautions because coming from Texas with the new CDC guidelines what has been "open for business" is now "open and masks...

The Ultimate Portland (OR) Shopping Thread

I'm headed that way in a week and would love recs on food from anyone. It's been about 6-7 years. For reference I thought Tasty and Sons was great and the vibe (heard it's 'nicer' now) was good. Any opinions on Sugarpine? Doing a drive out that way and it looks solid.

٭٭٭ No Man Walks Alone - Official Affiliate Thread ٭٭٭ (a.k.a. I shouldn't have slept on it)

Fujito shorts from last week's drop are great. Really sturdy fabric and ideal cut that will be my go-to shorts this summer.

٭٭٭ No Man Walks Alone - Official Affiliate Thread ٭٭٭ (a.k.a. I shouldn't have slept on it)

The number of times I've said "when are you due?" in error has led me to bury all my thoughts on this topic but I'm glad someone said it!
