SPIER & MACKAY - Official Affiliate Thread

I think it might be just the angle of the camera. It looks like it's shooting down creating an effect.

Who makes a decent quality, lightweight merino wool sweater?

Does anyone have experience with the BrooksTech merino or new Washable Merino from Brooks?

The Quintessential Dress Shoe: Black Cap Toe Oxford

I would suggest the Loake over the AE. I'm not a fan of the Park Avenue's stubby cap. For some reason it looks much better on the Strand than the PA.

The Cheaney Alfred is quite nice. Also the TLB Mallorca Williams.

    Gray Flannel Suit Advice

Thanks for the help! I was planning on using 504.801/4 if I went with the SS version.

    Gray Flannel Suit Advice

Thank you. I'm actually looking at either a Suitsupply one made with VBC 340g flannel or a Spier & Mackay one made with Hardy Minnis 340g cloth.

    Gray Flannel Suit Advice

This is great advice. Thank you! I'm in Philly (similar but slightly warmer than Boston). I think single breasted is probably the way to go here too. I'm usually inside. I have to think about the vest.

    Gray Flannel Suit Advice

What makes you say double-breasted? I hadn't really been thinking of that.

    Gray Flannel Suit Advice

Good morning, all. I was looking for a little advice. I'm planning buying a gray flannel suit, but I wasn't sure if it made more sense to go with a mid-gray or a charcoal gray. I was planning on charcoal, but as I researched I found so many great pictures of Grant, Connery, Moore, etc. all in...

TLB Mallorca - Made in Spain Footwear

No worries. For me the issue is that Meermin seem to be an "E" medium width while TLB and Cheaney are an "F" medium width. I also wear an 11D (US) in Allen Edmonds.

TLB Mallorca - Made in Spain Footwear

I wear a 10.5 in the HIRO last (a little snug). Iwear a 10 in TLB (and Cheaney). They are perfect.

Thanks for this post, @The Shoe Snob! Excellent. Do you have any information on what ROIS leather might be? I've seen it mentioned a few places.

    english shoes quality heirachy

I'm curious (because I have no experience further up your list than Cheaney), what makes you rank Trickers so high? I've always wondered hot much better than Cheaney they were.

How good is Spier and Mackay?

That makes sense, my changes were relatively simple.

How good is Spier and Mackay?

I've bought 4 MTO shirts from S&M, three OCDBs and one dress shirt. I even asked (in the notes) them to substitute unfused interlinings in the cuffs and collar for the dress shirt. I took the measurement for all the shirts from existing dress shirts that fit me well. All four have been perfect.

    Starting out

I have struggled to break Meermin shoes in too. AE are easier for me. I would also suggest looking at Loake, Barker, Herring's own line, and Sanders.

SPIER & MACKAY - Official Affiliate Thread

@spiermackay I would just like to suggest that if you're going to offer size 46 jackets as separates (like the new cotton ones), please also offer size 40 trousers (a standard 6" drop). Currently most trouser separates only go to 38, while most jacket separates go to 46. I would certainly buy...
