Carmina Shoes - Definitive Thread (reviews, advice, sizing, etc...)

How are your orders from last months MTO campaign looking? I ordered my Calways 12 October and I haven’t received any updates yet.

I saw that their navy pure cashmere fabric for custom overcoats just disappeared from the fabric selection site. I got told in store that it will get restocked within a month or so. I sent an email about an hour ago to their customer support. Was a bit curious about what they'd answer. Got a...

Carmina Shoes - Definitive Thread (reviews, advice, sizing, etc...)

Quick inquiry: I wear 8.5UK in Forest. The issue is that I feel that front part is a bit tight. At the same time, I have some issue with help slippage (nothing major). Would you advise me to go with the same size in Forest EEE instead? Also, would the wider width make the shoe look more clunky...

I actually happend to have another pic of the back with better lightning. Although I’m still standing a bit too close to the camera.

Thank you so much, Despos! Really appreciate it! I could try to get new pictures later on. The jacket and the trousers are both dark in colour, so I do understand they appear to blend together a bit in the pics. Is there anything I should tell them fix on this jacket? I guess the shoulder part...

The Tailors' Thread: Fit Feedback and Alteration Suggestions

Received my new MtM hopsack jacket yesterday. This is my first time ordering a jacket from this specific store, so I do have the option to get things tailored for free if necessary and newly adjusted measurements for my next order. I think it looks pretty good, but I'm no expert. What do you...

Does anyone have any pics of the 905 chukkas on a rounded last (e.g Forest)? I'd like to see how it looks on a non chiseled last.

I remember that it was possible to lower the button stance when they still used Munro as their MtM supplier. Haven't ordered a jacket since then. You sure it isn't possible? Perhaps it differs between "regular" custom made and "Custom Made from Scratch".

Those of you who own boots with leather uppers and suede shafts. How do you take care of them? Is it easy to polish them without shoe cream/polish getting in contact with the suede and vice versa when applying water repellent to the suede?

Thank you all! If someone just could chime in with size recommndations, I'd be extremely grateful! :)

Thanks! I'll think about it more. I'd like the on that resembles EG's 82 last the most. Which size would you recommend in Soller/Robert? As I mentioned in my prior post, I have UK8.5 in my latest suede oxfords in Forest. The heel could be a bit more narrow, and a tad bit lower instep wouldn't...

Carmina Shoes - Definitive Thread (reviews, advice, sizing, etc...)

That looks awesome! Now I'm unsure if I should go with Robert or Soller... Anyone who can help me make up my mind before the promotion ends? :) Also, I think I'm going with a brown suede upper and brown vegano lower. Also going to ask to get the toe and heel a bit burnished (like the Galway). I...

Thanks! I'll go with that one then! :) Leaning towards the violet kid lining. Also, I have a last inquiry, if you guys can help me. As I wrote in my post yesterday regarding the "Edward Green Galway mockup", I'm trying to go with a last that closely resembles EG:s 82 last. Do you guys think...

Could I ask you guys what the difference is between the lining options (calf/kid leather)? Is one generally preferred before the other? Thanks!

Carmina Shoes - Definitive Thread (reviews, advice, sizing, etc...)

I'd love to have a pair of Edward Green Galways, but they're just out of my price range. Thought of making a custom pair now (boot model: 80791) during Carmina's MTO campaign. What would you guys say is the correct type of leather to go for to get something as close to a classic pair of Galways...

Perhaps this is a question better asked in the tailors thread, but I'll give it a try here becuase it's regarding an SS product. SS unfortunately lacks the option of adding darts on shirts directly during production. I prefer to have darts to get rid of the excess bilowing in the back (except...

By the way, these are the trousers I'm thinking about (or rather the fabric, because I'm going the MtM route). Do you guys think that the fabric will work as a pair of odd trousers? I actually like navy odd trousers (people seem to have something against them here), but wondering if they might...

Really? Shouldn't the lining make it slightly warmer? I've never had any issues with my legs freezing, so don't know if that'll be too big of an issue.

The thing is that I don't have that issue with cotton trousers. We did make the calf area of the trouser legs a bit wider last time, which reduced the the risk of the legs getting stuck (my prior pair of cotton trousers had a risk of getting stuck sometimes, but the legs fell down after a couple...
