Brushed some shell and wore shoes all day working from home (well, boots). Having my own chili con carnival as I take an evening stroll.

Edit: Sorry. Thought I was up to date, but looks like someone had already responded to this. And Gustin sometimes uses loomstate and other unsanforized denim that is made to shrink a few sizes to fit (like old 501s). Tough to have your jeans shrink and your zipper stay the same size, so you...

Actually wore shoes all day and even went for a nice walk outside this evening. Clearly in the time I’m saving in not having to commute each day I need to work on my photography. My legs are not quite that skinny and my jacket is not that huge. But those shoes are that amazing.

I’m guessing “demo” in this case means demolish and not demonstrate. You’re right, the future labor market for either will probably lead to some good deals, but when you want satisfaction sooner rather than later sometimes it’s better to make a move. Again, in either case.

I have two shell 1st Aves and think it’s a really great design. That said, I would probably say that while creases on the toe cap are not guaranteed...they are very likely.

All square with my 2019 trunk show purchases. Now I can focus on my suede arriving.

Chili. I’ll try to get a shot in the sun because that’s where they really...well...shine.

Pulled out my very first pair of AE for today, my merlot 5th Aves. I didn’t get my fit quite right, but I was surprisingly close. I got further away from my correct fit before I got it pretty much nailed.

I’ve got a pair of 11D Leeds in burgundy shell that I really should sell. I like them but they are just a half size too small for me and I really need to move on from them.

You’re trying to decide between awesome or pimp cane, but can’t it be both?

Really good point on the gray stitching. Hadn’t noticed that before. I like it.

Thanks. That helps me feel good about jumping in blind with an order. And since we seem to be a visual crew, today’s choice was one of my aforementioned HM. Along with some office carpet.

Any guidance on fit for the MacNeil last? With it being phased out and I can’t find anything else on the last (unless I’m missing something) to try on so it’s a bit of a leap of faith. Twice I’ve ordered an 11.5D MacNeil and both times it ended up being out of stock. I’m a very solid 11.5D on...

Good question. I assumed black because they seem so much darker than everything else, and I know AE seems to always default to black with burgundy shell and calf (personally I prefer more of an antique with burgundy and #8). But zooming in on the actual edge it does look like there’s some...

I have always gone v tread soles whenever given the option, but I think I might just go with leather for this one. Edge is trickier. I for one really like the gray suede strands AE has made with the translucent brown edge, so I’ll probably go brown translucent but there is a lot of edge and welt...

Funny. I’m likely going with the opposite. I’m leaning gray MacNeil and burgundy Hamilton. I was hoping for a short wing option, but the MacNeil seems like it will be much more of a crowd pleaser for the crew here. Lots of good options available.

@ae_ashley can you confirm piping colors that will be used? Looks like almost all of them are the suede color or close (chocolate and snuff have brown, gray has gray, loden has either loden or gray.) On the burgundy I can’t tell if that’s brown or black. For something like that where it’s...
