I feel like everyone that actually cooks has removed the closest smoke detector to their kitchen. You sear a steak or run the broiler for nine seconds, *beep* *beep* *beep*. Nope! Bye bye smoke detector.

OFFICIAL THREAD: General Cookery and Discussion

Better than Bouillon is great, which I think is another Kenji tip (America's Test Kitchen loves it too). Only problem is the salt levels if you're reducing it a lot. You're just paying for water with boxed stock, that paste lasts forever and you can adjust the dosage to your liking.

Any of ya'll nerds read Dungeon Crawler Carl? It's definitely not high literature, even for fantasy, but extremely fun especially if you're into RPGs. Seth McFarlane's company is supposed to be working on converting it to a TV series.

Trailers are starting to look like the file names on my manuscript drafts. Final_edit final_v2_rev1.docx

Sucks. That's one of my favorite series but hard to keep it going when the author turns out to be such a POS. I feel vindicated for pirating my copy of the graphic novel. It was a principled stand all along!

I'll wait and give it a chance. I remember thinking the animation of Blue Eyed Samurai looked terrible in trailers, but the actual show animation looks amazing.

Sure, but I still didn't really need to rehash the dumb high school dating stuff. At least they broke up lol.

Shows set in high school pander to way too many easy tropes. Dumb high schoolers dealing with dumb high school problems. It's an easy hack to engineer plotlines around stupid interpersonal problems, etc. Bullies! Girlfriend drama! Stress about college! It's all been done so many times, in...

What are you drinking right now?

I'll never complain about getting more gin. (cries in Dry January)

    Lets talk about COFFEE

I was cleaning the scale out of my kettle yesterday with some citric acid. I seem to have forgotten to dump out the citric acid water before making coffee. Talk about an acid bomb!

That has to be Hollywood math, right? Andor doesn't even have a bunch of CGI, which is how they usually justify insanely inflated budgets.

Both Spiderverse movies are great, with #2 only being limited by being effectively a part 1 of 2.

Putting the poem "Boots" over it was genius. Creepy. (according to the Internet they love blasting this at troop during SERE school)

Good lord, the risk to reward of that project is all out of wack. Speaking of microwaves, a relatively large number of people have been electrocuted by using microwave transforms to do woodburning. Just not smart.
