So I got my 3 roll 2 hopsack sportcoat back from the cleaners and they pressed it like a 3 button. I brought it back and had them repress it correctly, but now the fabric behind the top button has an imprint. Any thoughts on how to get the imprint out? Any thoughts on what to say to the cleaners...

The Tobacco Fresco trousers: will they match the Tobacco Fresco Sport Jacket? At one point there was talk of making them with pleats and or side tabs. Is that happening? Thanks!

I have the same question. So far I've only gotten 38 contemporary in my two suits and sport coat I've bought from S&M and had it taken in a little. I've thought about getting a slim suit and letting it out. I assume I should do a 38 contemporary in the slub. Or should I size up to a 40 slim?

I'm considering getting a slub jacket. Is the sizing true to size?

I think S&M should reword the advert. Even if 5% of the customers read it incorrectly, it is bad advertisement.

All of the buttons. It's the worse on my white oxford. I think it was the brushed version. I still love the shirts.

I'm sorry that you had this experience. I do know that they are going through some growing pains. That said, these mix-ups are not the norm. I've made 5 purchases with Spier and Mackay and I've been thrilled with each transaction.

Yes, I have that problem. It's worse with my white ocbd compared to the blue ones. It seems to get a little better over time. I tend to button the sleeve placket before putting it on (and the collar if I'm not wearing a tie.) Sometimes I'll use a stay or a coin to protect my thumb with my white...

Looks charcoal. The next question is whether you like it.

Please no more than a single pleat. You should do a survey on forward or reverse. Finally, if you do pleats, will you increase the rise?

I have a pair of single forward pleated pants that I very much like. The Stoffa trousers are single reverse which I am open to. Please no triple reverse - that would remind me of the JAB suits that I bought 15 years ago.

Really? You are asking us? What do you think we would say? If you have the money and no one will be mad at you for spending (spouse, child), buy it. Put the old suit on ebay.

What are your opinions on button downs with suits? Including wearing a tie.

Both. Right now it feels trendy as a rebuke of the recent super slim lapel craze that is finally on a decline. However in a couple of years it will feel classic.

I found that to be true. However, if they are really long on you, you may need to get the sleeves shortened. Another trick is to move the button so that the cuff is tighter around the wrist. I didn't buy any shirts on this last sale because I'm excited for the multiple sleeve length options.

I thought it was up now. I just bought a suit this morning and it had a way to change the currency to USD.

Rick, I would caution against trying to do too much and straying from your core business. I would much rather see otr shirts in individual sleeve lengths.

Does S&M still shorten sleeves on OTR shirts? I had one done a while ago. I think the cost was $10.

What size ties are you all wearing with these larger lapels? A few years ago I finally got rid of all of my ties larger than 3 1/4 inch. I'm wondering if that was a mistake.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
