Cotton “astrakhan” (cotton pile, because as awesome as real astrakhan is, it’s also kinda gross).

    The Overcoat Thread

Yes, that’s the balmacaan from Buck Mason in Magee tweed. Salvo is making me up a Polo-esque polo coat in Harrison’s camel hair, should be ready for a fitting when he comes in April. Might look into Harrison’s archive cashmere for another coat but think I might opt for a sport coat instead.

If it makes everyone feel better, I did get a really nice suit that I’ll wear once I get home.

    That sounds about right.

the profoundly unofficial I Sarti Italiani thread

Heyoooo Yes, @circumspice is correct in that I've pushed Salvo for a cut that he (and most Italians) would normally never do. Salvo himself prefers suits on the slim side, but he has noticed that more and more customers (even in Italy) are asking for more room. I've gotten him to the point...

    Upcoming NYC Trunk Shows

Heyooo I won't be with Salvo this time, but his colleague Claudio will be there for translation. He's a great guy, taller, better looking, and an all around solid dude. That said, free to reach out to me via DM with any questions

Ahhhh bummer! It’s a fairly simple procedure but you have to find a willing tailor to try it.

    The Official Dieworkwear Appreciation Thread

Hey there, sorry I'm just now seeing this. The guys at Tailors Keep accept shipments and they know exactly what kind of interfacing to use, and how much. Jonathan is an excellent technical tailor, but not the best stylist. The two together have a great symbiotic relationship, similar to the...

Unfunded Liabilities: a/k/a The Cloth Thread

Whoops, yes, I have the Harrison's 15oz. Didn't know that Minnis' woolen started at 15oz though. Thanks! Learned something new :)

Unfunded Liabilities: a/k/a The Cloth Thread

Here is my flannel experience from soft/spongy to harder/crispy (although no flannel is really crispy). VBC Lady San Felice 11.5oz woolen flannel is supremely soft. Worn a couple times a year, mostly casually. Doesn’t keep a great crease, but it’s like wearing sweats. Best for roomy/classic...

Grant Stone - Official Affiliate Thread

I'm not sure if it'll help with breaking in stiff shoes, but I can imagine it would. I go sockless when the weather is warm. I have the same experience, which is why I wear them wet until they dry.

I’m not sure I understand the question…soaking them with water (or rubbing a solution of water & a bit of white vinegar) helps to stretch leather. This method will make your loafers bigger.

Unfunded Liabilities: a/k/a The Cloth Thread

No, that's an old picture, Angel hasn't used that fabric in a while. I do like the yellow overcheck; the Harrison's is cashmere with no overcheck at all. I'm afraid it might look (I can't believe I'm typing this) too boring.
