LMAO! Thats exactly what I ended up doing. Right after posting I man'd up and gave it a try: good dark jeans, thin sweater and nice button up. It was a lil' too safe and bland, but I now have an idea of what can be done with grey shoes. Thanks for the tip!- thursday

Picked up these grey suede boots (impulse buy) as I figured I could use this color in my shoe collection, but I'm having a hard time finding which color pants/jeans/shirts/jackets/blazers [to buy] to pair with it. Any ideas or is grey shoes just too limiting?- thursday

Well, the reason for the emphasis on the details is I'm building a new wardrobe and I'm just hoping these shoes can be the most versatile piece in the collection. Off white can take away from a look sometimes.- thursday

Nice recommendations! As I dig more and more into this hunt I see the Common Projects and the Filippa K's are better interchangeable pieces for me. Oh, I think you're right; it does look like he's wearing Common Projects. With that new info, I'll revise... I like the profile of the Common Projects (i.e., not bulky/chunky up front), but I like the stylings of the Supra Cuttler. Any new recommendations based on that? Thanks for your help so far- thursday

Thanks, but I think those are a different look than I'm looking for. It's a bit too causal and look as though they can look raggedy fairly quickly. Any more suggestions closer to the style of the Thorocraft or Supra's?- thursday

Next best size for tailoring
If I find a blazer/jacket or dress pants (yes, separates) I really like but can't exactly fit, do I grab the size that fits me closest or do I grab the one a size or two bigger/longer for getting tailored?
