Cad and the Dandy - An honest assessment

I thought so too. Btw, is that actually true that they’ve taken such a confrontational tone? That’s genuinely shocking to me.

Cad and the Dandy - An honest assessment

Hey all, Just wanted to give another update. Finally made it back to CATD last night. I can confirm that the gents there really came through. James was shocked at how the fabric came out looking after wearing the suit - so much so that he said he will never make a suit it in ever again. He...

Totally concede to your point. I now understand the fabric is what it is. But as I mentioned further up the thread - I wasn't given any guidance whatsoever on the fabric. I told them I wanted something breathable for a summer wedding in a hot climate and I was pointed to swatches - that was it...

For what it’s worth, here are some preliminary pictures from the wedding. I wore the suit for a few hours for 3 days before the wedding, then took to a reputable dry cleaners for a proper pressing the day before the wedding. On the day of the wedding, yhe trousers wound up very messy, indeed -...

Sorry for the miscommunication - it is darted. It was just not done adequately. Also again - no advice was given on fabric in the preliminary stages. I was just pointed at the summer weight ones, not a lot of information on what they meant for structure or style. They just asked if I preferred...

I think that goes without say. Wish I got that memo the first time....

Well - styling aside - whether the suit needs to be remade in order to fix the remaining issues, I wouldn't know, to be honest. Again, this is why you go to professionals and try to leave it to professionals and their advice. However, allow me to clarify my previous statement as I think we may...

Cad and the Dandy - An honest assessment

Hi @Alan Bee - just to let you and the forum know that I just had a productive conversation with @Sleats at Cad. For what it's worth, he did apologize for the experience and was quite forthright in trying to make it right. Not being able to resolve this before my wedding aside - he did ask I...

That’s fairly strong. From the photo what led you to say that other than the trousers, which I agree are an embarrassment.

Depends on how loose you want it, really. The traditional one, is really quite loose. Many others prefer something fitted. To be honest, I've seen people pick up Hart Schaffner Marx coats RTW that is right on the money on the shoulders and do minimal alterations to it.

100% on this. On a serious note, this is a coat that looks better machine stitched. I only know this because my late grandmother had one that was handstitched by her shop. The lines were too faint to make a bold statement, especially as time goes on, these will only blend it and lose their...

Cad and the Dandy - An honest assessment

It is. But to be fair, I'm quite heavy in the midsection so this is quite close to a portly suit. It does well to hide my love handles and so forth. Once the back part was corrected on the jacket - everything fell into place quite well. Also, it's a quite lightweight suit. I could've probably...

Thanks! I'm just still befuddled by the entire experience. It's just terrible that a customer is made to feel like a burden just for wanting the issues in the above pictures sorted out....

I don't have a way to do that right now - I'm traveling now for my wedding - will post photos once I have them. It's still not perfection, but it was done to a satisfactory standard.

Can’t remember. It’s very light though. I think 10 oz? I asked for the pockets that way, I usually tuck the flaps in anyway. (I compulsively put my hand in my pockets)
